The Chhattisgarh State Government has been constructing housing

colonies to panchayat secretaries at village Panchayats' head-

quarters. About 500 houses have been constructed till date.

The State Government is keen to provide housing facilities so that the

Panchayat secretaries can reside in headquarters and serve the masses.

The minister of BJP (Bharatiya Janta Party) is implementing a number of

schemes to ensure better health of pregnant women in state. As a result

of these schemes the maternal mortality rate has declined significantly.

Health Department lead by the minister of BJP(Bharatiya Janta Party) has

also started e-tracking system for online health monitoring of pregnant and

lactating mothers.

Under this system launched in 2010, the registration of married

couples or pregnant women is conducted by ANMs at sub-health

centres, primary health centres, and community health centres.

The details regarding check-ups, medicines and physical health of the beneficiary

women during pregnancy, i.e. right from the time of conceiving to the time of

delivery, are recorded. It also includes the information about essential vaccination

for newly-born from the day of birth to the time he reaches five years of age.

Each and every information is uploaded in the software through computer, tablet

and mobile. The Central Government has also launched similar system named

"Mamta". Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to have distributed mobile

phones to ANMs and health workers for uploading data into this software.

Recently, computer tablets have also been distributed to ANMs of urban areas.

Through this system, information about expected delivery, institutional delivery,

Janani Suraksha Yojana, vaccination, mother and child mortality rate is accessible.
