This increase in D.A.is based on average increase in Consumer Price Index Numbers from July, 2008 to December, 2008 vis-a-vis the previ,ous six months. Copy of the Order is on the website of the Department. This D.A. is applicable to all 29 scheduled employments. The 'revised minimum rates of' wages are indicated below: Non-matriculates Matriculates but not graduates G~aduates and above I 4443.00 I 251.00 I. 4694.00 I 181.00 The Labour Department, Government of NCT of [jelhi~advises ali employers, covered by'the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 to pay wages to its workmen as per the revised rates. Attention of the employers is drawn to- sub-section 3 of Section 20 of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 which empowers the Authority to grant compl;lnsation' uoto ten times the amount payable to the workman. This is in addition' .to the prosecution, which can be initiated againstthedefaulting employer. Workmen who do not receive the notified minimum wages can approach the office of the Deputy Labour Commissioner in the respective districts and filetheir claim.
