    Northland Youth Coalition Mini GrantsDeadline: April 26, 2010

    NYC Mini-Grants: The Northland Youth Coalition are pleased to announce theopportunity to request for proposals for mini-grants from $100 - $300 each for regionalyouth programs. (When we say mini, we mean mini!) The Mini-Grant Program has

    been developed to recognize, fund and celebrate creative small-scale projects orprogram enhancements that will occur before June 30, 2010 at individual school-agesites. These mini grants reflect the Coalitions commitment to supportingNortheastern Arizona school-age afterschool providers in their effort to improve thequality of their programs.

    We know that school age child care and youth program providers can make a little goa long way. The Coalition wants to directly impact the quality of program that YOUcan offer. Is there something you have always wanted to do at your site, but yourprogram just doesnt have the extra cash? Is there some kind of equipment that youknow would make a great difference in how children spend the day with you? These

    are the kinds of projects we are looking to fund.Award Amounts: Mini-Grant awards will not exceed $300, and the expected range offunding is between $100 - $300.

    Who may apply: All applicants in Apache and Navajo counties that work in a programthat serves 1st through 8th grade school children in the out-of-school time hours areeligible. We expect applicants to be working directly at school-age sites and tocreatively address a particular need or want at their site. No more than one projectper site will be funded.

    Timeline: Completed applications must be received by 11:59 pm on Monday, April

    26, 2010. Funded projects will be announced the beginning of May. Projects shouldbe completed by June 30, 2010. Final Reports and accounting will be due to theCoalition by July 30, 2010.

    Evaluation criteria: The following criteria will be used to evaluate Mini Grantapplications based on a 4 point rubric:

    Creativity and Uniqueness of Idea Ability to complete the project Impact on the children Impact on the quality of the program
