Then Jesus went up to a mountain to pray, 2 1 4 5 6 The boat was out in the middle of the lake. Jesus saw they were having a hard time. The wind was against them. Peter saw it was Jesus and he thought, “I want to walk on the water”. Peter said, “Lord if it’s really you, let me come to you on the water.” Jesus said, “Come Peter.” Then Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. Everything was going fine. But Peter became afraid of the wind. Peter sank in the water because he did not keep his eyes on Jesus and His power. If we focus our attention on our problems and our own power to solve them, we will sink. Keep your eyes on Jesus! Peter began to sink. “Help, I’m drowning,” he screamed. Jesus reached out to him and took his hand and said, “Peter, why do you have little faith? Why do you doubt?” It was still dark and Jesus went walking on the water. The disciples saw Jesus and thought He was a ghost. They cried out in fear. Jesus said, “Don’t be afraid. It’s just me.”
