“MINEX RUSSIA 2013” MINING AND MINERAL EXPLORATION FORUM WILL BE HELD FOR THE 9TH TIME IN MOSCOW ON 1-3 OCTOBER 2013.

MINEX Russia Forum is the largest and most prominent Mining and Mineral Exploration event in Russia. Every year it brings together over 500 mining professionals, investors and service companies from across Russia, CIS, Europe, Australia, Africa, America and Asia. Organised in Moscow since 2005 the Forum is dedicated to promoting the best mining practices and mineral exploration projects and helping to facilitate new in-ternational business ventures for the Russian mining industry. Over the years forum has attracted more than 3000 mining professionals and investors and created vast knowledge base on mining in Russia containing over 500 business to business presentations and case studies.

MINEX GLOSSARY

MASTER CLASSES FOR MINING PROFESSIONALS

Master classes for mining professionals are 60-120 minute workshops designed to stimulate in-depth technical discussion and to present case studies to groups of 50 to 100 senior and technical managers of mining companies and investors. Three to four master classes are organised throughout the day and followed by Ice-Breaker evening drinks. Master classes themes are determined by the organisers.

Master class themes at MINEX Russia 2012 were:

• Valuation of mining companies at different development stages (Wardell Armstrong International);

• Discussion of the Philosophies driving Russian and International approaches to project evaluation (SRK Consulting);

• Rational use of mineral resources and practices to reduce operating costs of mining and processing sites in Russia and the CIS (OAO “Uralmekhanobr”);

• Health, Safety and Operations Optimisation in the Global Mining industry – Sharing Canadian best practices (Sandvik Mining).

MINING BUSINESS – MINING UNIVERSITY

“Mining Education – Mining Business” events will be organised on 1 October 2013 with the aim of developing closer links and facilitating cooperation between Mining businesses and Mining Education providers in Russia. Over 150 bright and talented graduate and post-graduate students from Russian Mining Universities and Technical Colleges are expected to take part in the industry generated events designed to stimulate their interest in further mining career and to present bright innovative ideas which could be potentially adapted by the mining industry.

Mining Business – Mining University events overview:

• Master classes, company presentations and case studies for students. Last year these were organised by the following companies: Severstal Resources, Micromine, Petropavlovsk and Polyus Gold.

• Presentations by the finalists of the national competition for young mining professionals and graduates “From Idea to Innovation”.

• Career planning consultations. In 2012 ARMZ Uranium Holding, Petropavlovsk PLC, Baikal Mining Company, Severstal Resources, Micromine, Polyus Gold took part in the HR fair.

Over 100 speaker presentations by prominent Russian and international experts, mining executives and Government Officials will be included in the forum’s programme. Russian and English simultaneous translation will be available at all sessions and master classes.

The forum’s agenda is organised as multi-flow and multi-discipline conference divided into plenary and technical sessions, offering extensive platform for presentations and dialogue between various business, academic and government groups taking part in the forum.

Plenary sessions are held in consecutive order and focus on trends and key developments in Russia’s mining regulations, investment, development, trade, and finance.

Technical sessions are held in parallel flows addressing technical and investment solutions for mining industry.

Business podiums are 20-30 minute presentations of mining projects, services and innovative technologies organised by exhibitors and delegates in a smaller auditorium throughout the day in parallel to the plenary and technical sessions of the forum.

MINEX RUSSIA EXPO

The two-day exhibition organised alongside MINEX Russia Forum offers companies “home base” for enhancing visibility and running one-on-one meetings and presentations for current and prospective clients, associates and other stakeholders.

Over 50 companies exhibited at the MINEX RUSSIA EXPO in 2012.

MINEX RUSSIAN MINING CLUB

Many Russian companies are currently adapting their business practices to the international standards. To facilitate this process MINEX forum founders have established in 2009 Russian Mining Club which offers platform for regular business meetings and sharing management experiences and technical knowledge. The Club is also an “idea exchange” generating themes for the annual MINEX forums.

Club meetings are held three-four times per year. Individual participation in the meetings of the MINEX Russian Mining Club is open to all regular participants of the MINEX Forums organised in Russia and Kazakhstan. Topics, format and attendees vary and are driven by the meeting key themes and agenda.

MINEX GLOSSARY MINEX AWARDS

Annual Russian Mining Excellence Award and Gala Dinner is one of Forum’s most extensive networking events. The Award is designed to stimulate peer competition for the right to be nominated as Russia’s mining champion. MINEX Award is open to local and international businesses operating in Russia and is run by a group of independent experts which ensures the Award’s credibility and highest industry esteem.

“From Idea to Innovation” national competition and award was established in 2011 by MINEX Russia Forum in cooperation with the Mining Educational and Methodological Association of Russian Universities (EMA) www.rmpi.ru and Moscow Mining University. The competition is organised for graduates and postgraduate students of Russian Mining Universities and Technical Colleges.

“From Idea to Innovation” award aims to:

• Encourage research and innovation among the Russia’s mining students and young specialists.

• Stimulate bright ideas and facilitate their practical implementation in mining business.

• Facilitate cooperation between mining enterprises and Russia’s higher mining education providers in the fields of technicaliInnovation in mining and mineral exploration.

«Miners and Mines of Russia» Amateur Photography Competition will be organised for the 2nd time at the Forum. The competition aims to provide an opportunity for amateur photographers to present their views of the Russia’s mining people and mining industry through photo images.

The works of finalists and winners will be presented at the photo display organised alongside MINEX Russia 2013 Expo in Moscow on 2-3 October 2013.

MINEX TV

Created and managed by MINEX Forum oganisers, MINEX TV captures brightest moments of the forum and provides video platform for forum’s speakers and special guests to broadcast their views, ideas and concerns to wider audiences in Russia and globally.

All interviews are posted on the website after the forum.

If you work in Russia and take pictures of mines or miners , we are delighted to invite you to take part in the «Miners and Mines of Russia» Amateur Photography Competition organised for the second time alongside the 9th “MINEX Russia” Mining and Mineral Exploration Forum.

The competition aims to provide an opportunity for amateur photographers to present their views of the Russia’s mining people and mining industry through photo images.

Participation in the competition is free of charge.
