A Message from Ms. Magruder IAR testing is finally here! Students will be using headphones/earbuds for the ELA portion of the test. Thinking about student comfort and sanitary measures, we are encouraging students to bring their own headphones/earbuds if they have them. We do have extras for students who don’t have their own sets. Please help your student to do their best by making sure he/she gets a good night’s rest each night and eats breakfast each morning. We do serve breakfast each morning if your child doesn’t have time to eat at home. Here is the schedule of testing:

What an assembly! We had an incredible PTA sponsored Quarter 3 PBIS assembly with a performance from Matt Wilhelm. Matt Wilhelm is a professional BMX athlete who has been on the XGames and America’s Got Talent. Mr. Wilhelm shared a strong message of never giving up and to be the student who helps others by using kind words and standing up for others. A huge thank you goes out to our John Mills PTA for making this event a reality!
Drop Off Table/Forgotten Items The drop off table is in the foyer by the main office door. It is the student’s responsibility to bring what they need each day for school, clubs and after school activities. If you bring a forgotten item to school, please be sure to label it before leaving it at the drop off table. We will find a way to get the item to the student, typically through their lunch period. The office will do its best to deliver all items. This is also a time to encourage your child to elevate his/her responsibility for items like lunches, homework, and other everyday necessities of school. Parent Reminder Do not bring animals to school. In accordance with Village Ordinance Sec. 5-15, animals are prohibited on public school property. We, therefore, ask when dropping off or picking up your child, you adhere to this ordinance. No animals allowed on school property. Also, state law prohibits smoking on school property. No smoking on school property. A Message from the nurse for next school year The state of Illinois requires all 6th graders to have a school physical prior to school starting August 14, 2019. All 2nd and 6th grade students are required to turn in a dental exam by Tuesday, May 15, 2019. This information went home with the first and fifth grade report cards.
