Millad® NX™ 10 Concentrate is a 10% concentrate of Millad® NX™ 8000 in a 12 MFR homopolymer polypropylene carrier. Millad NX 8000 is a new-to-the-world chemistry that significantly expands the performance of polypropylene clarification. Millad NX 8000 allows polypropylene to approach the look of high clarity plastics like polystyrene and polycarbonate.
ApplicationsMillad NX 10 Concentrate is effective in polypropylene injection molding, blow molding and thermoforming processes. End-uses include housewares, medical parts and packaging applications.

GuidelinesMillad NX 10 Concentrate can be blended like any other additive or color concentrate. The suggested loading for Enhanced Quality (EQ) applications is 2% (50:1). To achieve higher levels of clarity, or Ultimate Clarity (UC), the suggested use rate is 4% (25:1). Millad NX 10 Concentrate can be added to unclarified polypropylene resins or to Millad NX 8000 clarified polypropylene resins.
For more information, please contact your Milliken Representative. Please note that adjustments to the recommended loadings are necessary in case of addition to Millad NX 8000 clarified polypropylene resins. Millad NX 8000 is not compatible with Millad 3988i clarified resins.

Blending ProceduresMillad NX 10 Concentrate can be blended using a hopper mixer or by drum tumbling. If the latter is used, blend for a minimum of 20 minutes to ensure consistent results. “Hand” mixing is not recommended. Because Millad NX 8000 is not compatible with many nucleating and clarifying agents, it is recommended that it be used only with unnucleated and unclarified polypropylene grades or with Millad NX 8000 clarified grades.
RegulatoryAll of the components of Millad NX 10 Concentrate meet the FDA requirements for use in food contact applications in polyolefins (Conditions of Use A-H) at a maximum use-level of 5 weight percent of the polymer.
All components of Millad NX 10 Concentrate are compliant with Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 and amendments on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. For further details, please contact your Milliken Representative.
Processing Conditions• Normal polypropylene melt temperatures
are adequate when using Millad NX 10 Concentrate.
• A mold surface temperature of 70°F to 100°F (20-40°C) is recommended to achieve best clarity.
• Polished mold surfaces are necessary to achieve clarity.
• When using Millad NX 10 Concentrate in injection molding applications, increased backpressure may be required to achieve optimum dispersion.
