Rate of milk productionRate of milk productiony In 1950 the production of milk was 17 million tonnes

y In 1996 the production of milk was 70.8 million tonnes

    y

In the recent years from 2009-2011 the production is 112mt

y The Projected rate of production of milk in 2020 would become240 mT

    y

However so as to meet the rising demand of the consumer theproduction is expected to rise up to 220- 150 mt by 2020.

y If the above figures are achieved then India would be able tocontribute to 30-35% to world's milk production.
