Hey, Mom and Dad. It’s been a year now since…..you know…

Anyway things are a bit rough, but I’m handling it well and I know everything will work out..

I’m trying hard to keep my word to protect Kala and raise her the best I can.

You should see how big she’s getting… Her school grades are not as good as it use to be. I think she’s distracted by something. She hasn’t been open with me as she used to, but I think it’s just part of growing up.

Now I know what it’s like being a parent. Hahaha! It’s a tough shoe to fill. So that’s all the update I got for you guys. I don’t want to ramble for to long, but I just needed to talk to you guys about …things…..

Kala- Nothing much ..just you know… the usual boring..uh first year.. stuff. So far the homework aren’t that challenging. Easy peasy.

Miko- Ha! You sound just like me on my first year. I breezed through all my classes. Must run in the family.

Kala- Hahahaha!

SFX- Kids talking

Miko- Man, I hope Mrs. Kalouko doesn’t give us a surprise quiz today.

Miko- She’s been doing a lot of that lately.

Miko- Just be prepared incase you end up getting her next year.

Miko- Don’t get me wrong she’s a absolutely one of the best teachers in our school.

Miko- She just has a bad habit of challenging her students whenever she can.

Miko- Uh..Kala… You ok?? I hope I didn’t scare you with…

Kala- Huh? Oh! Ah….No no not at all I was uh…thinking how similar she is to my History teacher. Hehe..

Kala- Buuuuut you know mee I can handle any challenge the teachers throw at me.

Bully#3- Relax…this is just a simple business agreement between us and most of the kids in this school…including your sister.

Bully#3- Besides I have 2 good reasons for you to follow the same rules.

Miko- Ha! You think you can intimidate me??!!!

Miko- Think again. I’m not a sheep. My parents thought me to be my own person!

Miko- They also taught me to stand up against people like you!

Miko- ….Most of all they taught me that no one deserves to be bullied.

Miko- We need to stand up to people like them…

Random group#1- You need to leave!

Random group#2- We are all tired of you?!

Bully#3- Uh… ok guys.. I think it’s time to split.

Bully#3- We’ll deal with you another day!! Count on it!

Random voices- Good riddance! Bye idiots! Yay!

Kala- Thanks for coming to my rescue.

Miko- That’s what big brothers are for…..

Miko- ….But next time let me know what’s bothering you. We’ll get through it together.

Kala- I know ..it’s just that.. I was embarrassed and scared to tell anyone.

Miko- Before Mom and Dad died. I promised them I’d look after you.

Kala- I think Mom and Dad would be proud of that…

Kala- …also proud of ..what you did for them.

Sfx- Cheering kids, laughter and chatter.

Sfx- crickets

Miko- Sleep tight kid.

Pheew! What a day. I stopped Kala and a few other students from being bullied and encourage them to stand up for themselves. I think I might have started something. Haha…

You know, I have to thank you guys for giving me the strength…. I don’t know if I would have the courage to stand up to those bullies.

But I’m glad you were there with me in spirit.

....so I can continue to keep my promise. Good night…
