• A ‘Single Market’ Directive on the restriction of certain hazardous substances

• Complementary to the WEEE Directive

What is covered?

• All products covered by the WEEE Directive including electric light bulbs & household luminaires

• From 1 July 2006 the following substances will be banned– Lead– Mercury– Cadmium– hexavalent chromium– polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)– polybrominated diphenyl ethers

(PBDE)
