Midway Community Centre Midway Community Centre is a long-awaited, fantastic new facility, opened in October 2016. A new building with indoor sports/function rooms, a kitchen and changing rooms, with a new play area and high quality football pitches, this facility offers something for everyone.

How to Find usFrom the A511 turn onto Springfield Road. Immediately take the right turn onto Burton Road. Burton Road turns slightly left and becomes Lime Tree Avenue. Continue along Lime Tree Avenue until you reach the junction to Chestnut Avenue (approximately 600m). Turn right onto Chestnut Avenue. Continue along Chestnut Avenue for approximately 200m then turn right onto Rowan Drive. The Community Centre sits on the corner of Chestnut Avenue/Rowan Drive with its associated car park accessed via Rowan Drive.
From the A444 head east on Park Road/B5353 towards Woodview Road. Continue onto Main Street. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto High Street/B5353. After approximately 600m turn left onto Wellwood Road. Continue along Wellwood Road for approximately 300m then turn left onto Rowan Drive. The Community Centre sits on the corner of Chestnut Avenue/Rowan Drive with its associated car park accessed via Rowan Drive.

About the Venue cont...The Sports Hall measures approximately 9m x 17m (29ft x 55ft). The maximum capacity for the Sports Hall is 180, however this depends on the type of event you wish to hold there. For example, should your event require the room laid out theatre style the maximum capacity would be 120. Likewise should you wish to have the room laid out for a meeting or party the maximum capacity would be 80.
The Foyer Meeting Room measures approximately 6m x 9m (19ft x 29ft). The maximum capacity for the Foyer Meeting Room without furniture is 60, however this depends on the type of event you wish to hold. For example, should you wish to have the room laid out theatre style, for a meeting or small party the maximum capacity would be 40.
Midway Community Centre also has a large kitchen available for use complete with a double oven cooker, water boiler, fridge, freezer and dishwasher with serving hatches to the Foyer Meeting Room and the football pitches which form part or the larger site. The provision of refreshment consumables (i.e. tea, coffee, milk etc.) are not provided as part of your booking. Should you require catering for your event, you are more than welcome to organise your own or we can provide a list of independent caterers on request.
Cost of HireThe cost of hiring Midway Community Centre will vary dependent on the room, time of day and length of time hired. Please feel free to contact us for a full costing prior to making your booking.
The Community Centre has tables and chairs available for use and, on the provision of a layout plan, can be set out for you prior to your event. The Centre is also equipped with a projector and screen, portable PA system and flip chart stands that are available for your use.
Other Facilities on SiteThe venue has its own car park with 50 spaces, 2 of which are designated disabled spaces.
Adjacent to the Community Centre is a fenced-off play park suitable for toddlers to teens containing a variety of fun play equipment.
There are also 2 football pitches on site, 1 adult and 1 suitable for Under 14 matches. Hire of pitch facilities are let on a season long basis from August to May however one-off matches may be considered at the end of the season in May and again before the start of the season in August. Regular BookingsIf you are looking for a venue to hold regular classes, seminars or any other type of regular bookings, Midway Community Centre may be just the venue for you. We have a history of hosting keep fit classes, martial arts classes, dance classes and talks for groups.
Organising Your EventEvent organisers are more than welcome to make a familiarisation visit to the Centre prior to making a booking.
