The company provides a comprehensiverange of aggregates and asphalt products thatare used by customers in the building, civilengineering and railway industry.

The business operates two quarries and sixasphalt plants in the East and West Midlands,including the award winning andinternationally recognised Cliffe Hill Quarry inLeicestershire. Its centralised Order Team is based at the Head Office at Whitwick, alsoin Leicestershire, where a team of Order Co-ordinators monitor orders from placementthrough to delivery to site. As an independentand autonomous Midlands based company, itis totally focused on meeting and, wherepossible, exceeding customer expectations.

Formed in December 1996 MQP controlsmore than 200 million tonnes of consentedreserves. Its extensive in-house resources arestrengthened by services available through itsparent companies, Tarmac and Hanson.

The experience of production, technical andsales support staff ensures that customersare guaranteed an end product that meetsnot only prescribed specifications but alsoon time.

We produce a full range of asphalts to BSEN 13108 including Part 1, AsphalticConcrete, Part 4 Hot Rolled Asphalt, Part 5Stone Mastic Asphalt and Part 8 ReclaimedAsphalt in addition to HAPAS approvedThin Layer Surfacing and Specifications forHighway Works (SHW).

Moreover, standard materials can beadapted to meet individual requirements.

Midland Quarry Products supply aggregateswith polished stone values up to 56, all ofwhich are washed prior to deliveryproviding maximum adhesion duringsurface dressing operations.

Rail ballastRail Ballast is produced at Cliffe Hill Quarry, which has one of the mostmodern rail distribution facilities in the UK, operating 24 hours a dayfrom Monday to Saturday.

We are therefore able to deliver by both rail and road direct tocustomers in order to meet pre-planned deadlines.

All Rail Ballast supplied by Midland Quarry Productsconsistently complies with all current railway specifications.

SafetyMQP has a zero tolerance, target zero (OTTO) approach to incidents in theworkplace.

It is successfully working on zero incidents year on year through trainingemployees and contractors to undertake tasks safely and without risk. Our aimis to be best in class through a dedicated programme to reduce all incidentsincluding “near hits” and non-lost time incidents. To achieve this MQPemployees are encouraged to gain National Vocational Qualifications in SafetyManagement and safe working practices.

HealthMQP is focussed on the wellbeing of its employees and runs a programme ofregular health screening to reduce any risk to its personnel.
