Adapted & performed by Guy MastersonDirected by Tony Boncza
Officially the most highly performed solo
show in the world, now on its final UK
tour.
Using nothing but a bale of hay, some
amazing sound effects and brilliant
physical and vocal dexterity, Guy
Masterson ignites this famous yarn,
bringing a modern sinister relevance to
Orwell's masterwork. Hilariously comic
and terribly poignant in turn, Masterson's
breathtaking physical storytelling is two
hours of utterly compelling theatre.

I LOVE TOBOOGIE
It’s Showtime!
A new play by Adrian Preater
Based on the novel by Charles Dickens
"Whether I shall turn out to be the hero
of my own life, or whether that station
will be held by anybody else, these
pages must show."
Young David Copperfield's sheltered life
with his doting mother is thrown into
turmoil when she marries the ruthless
and violent Murdstone. Thrust into an
uncaring world of poverty and hardship,
David must work out whom to trust if he
is to grow into the man he should
become.
Capturing the haunting beauty of the
Yarmouth coast and bustling Victorian
London, Hotbuckle use their distinctive
style to tell the beloved story of Dickens'
favourite child as only they know how.

Join us in this dramatic re-telling of
Hans Christian Andersen’s all-time
favourite story of the little mermaid,
who falls in love with a human Prince
and gives up everything to win his
love.
The kind-hearted Little Mermaid
rescues the Prince during a storm at
sea and begins a story that takes her
far from her home beneath the waves.
Determined to pursue her love on the
shore, she makes a bargain with the
evil Sea Witch, but it comes at a heavy
price.

by John Godber
Directed by Keith Hukin
Martin has gone to the Lake District to
concentrate on writing his Hollywood
blockbuster, with all the peace and quiet
he could hope for – or so he thought.
But he’s invited his parents along for a
nice cosy weekend getaway…
Len and Joan turn up after last visiting
the Lakes years ago and of course, it’s
still raining. It’s cold, it’s damp and it’s
wet; they’re dropping to bits with a tablet
for every complaint; and at every chance,
that’s what they’ll do.
Full of bittersweet humour, one of
Godber’s best plays paints a picture of
family life that will strike a chord in
everyone!

An original comedy-drama
by Kate Bramley, music by Jez Lowe
The quiet village backwater of
Bottledale is changed forever by the
advent of the Great War in Europe. But
the roll of honour stone in the village
square remains empty and unetched as
the years pass, and folk start to wonder.
This is a story of hope, humour and
humanity, about the men who went
away, and the women left behind, and
the eccentric twists and turns of daily life
that led to their re-uniting, for better or
worse, in the winter of 1918.
There were 52 Thankful Villages at the
end of the Great War – villages which
lost no men because all those who left to
serve came home again.

PART OF THE GREAT WAR SEASON
A Dead Funny Comedy
by Carolyn Fairlie
Dying on stage is every actor’s
nightmare. But this endearingly funny
play is more likely to have you weeping
sudden laughter than crying into your
beer.
The year is 1870. Wilbert and Augusta
Piper run a small theatre company
touring Hamlet. Everything may be
rotten in the state of Denmark, but it’s
not looking too good in their living room
either. Wilbert’s dead, but most
definitely not gone; and Augusta can’t
find his will or his pet snake, Iago.
Meanwhile his rival, the dastardly
Snaresby, is on the prowl…
What ensues involves a drunken vicar, a
precarious marriage, ghostly antics...
and the untimely discovery of Iago.

A witty and poignant comedy from the
creator of Adrian Mole
Somewhere in a Teesside church hall, a
very unique group of women are about
to meet!
With the aid of former sufferer Gwenda
and the ever-sensible trainee social
worker Fliss, three agoraphobic ladies
bravely set about staging a rummage
sale to break through their insular lives
for at least one day. But it soon becomes
clear that it’s not just the physical
jumble that they are managing to sort…
Following the successes of Miss Crispy
1988 and The Shagaround, less is MORE
return with a wonderful comedy with
music that will coax you out into the real
world.
