following the Illumination Project, October 1-November 5th.
FaithKids One-Day 4th & 5th Grade Retreat: October 24, 7:30 am-8:30 pm Michigan Christian Youth Camp A day with friends! Get ready for games, low ropes course, archery, a bonfire and learning
about faith. Theme: “Not Ashamed.” We’ll look at Romans 1:16 and see how we are called to
live. Cost $55 includes transportation, lunch, dinner, snacks, low ropes, archery, and a bracelet.

Together In Prayer Opportunities Watching God Work As We Pray: An opportunity to pray for others and your needs.

Issues & Action The Pastor Protection Act: HB4855, has been introduced in the Michigan House to protect ministers'
religious freedom in the state. If passed, this bill, modeled after legislation already passed and signed into
law by the governor of Texas, will prevent pastors in Michigan from being forced to officiate over a
homosexual wedding ceremony. Call, write or email your state representative (house.michigan.gov) and
senator (senate.michigan.gov) this week, and urge them to support HB4855, the Pastor Protection Act, to
protect pastors' freedom to practice their faith and from being forced to defend themselves in court
because they exercise that freedom.

the Secretary of State website (webapps.sos.state.mi.us/mivote/) and complete the form to see if you have
a ballot to vote on in your community. If you aren't registered to vote for the election, October 5th is the

The Story: finding your story in God’s story The Story: a book of selections from the Bible, arranged chronologically, that reads like a novel. During this unique 31-week experience, every member of the family, parents through teens, will read their own version of The Story. On Wednesday nights, adults and high school students will meet in the Worship Center, middle school students will meet in the Student Center, and children will gather in the FaithKids classrooms. Age related material from The Story will be presented in all children and student classes and parents will be provided with related material to take home. This offers families the unique experience of every family member reading their own age related version of The Story at the same time. This is a great opportunity for family discussions since every family member will be literally on the same page for 31 weeks.

Celebrating 42 Years of
God’s Immeasurably More
This weekend we are celebrating a very important event in the life of our church. We will
be saying goodbye to our Senior Pastor of 42 years Rev. Warren Arndt.
Please join us in the Gym after the service on Saturday, or on Sunday before the service
from 10 am to 10:45 am or after the 11 am service. There will be refreshments and you will
have the opportunity to thank Pastor Arndt for his ministry at Faith.
If you would like to write a memory note or message to Pastor Arndt, there will
be a table in the Gym with special stationary. These notes will be collected and
bound into a Memory Book for Pastor Arndt.

Comfort and encouragement for my cousin who lost her daughter.
Comfort my friend who just lost their dog.
Prayers for Family Relationships/Concerns:
Protection for Scott while he is in Afghanistan.
May I learn to better manage my finances, to not worry about money and find ways to help pay
for my daughter’s wedding.
Help my mom sell her house.
A safe trip home for my dad and stepmom.
Bring my brothers to know Jesus.
Lord, be with Aunt Cheryl as she returns home with an aid. Have mercy on her and surround her
with angels with and without wings.
Heal my daughter and son-in-law’s marriage and that they come to You for answers.
Salvation and healing for 2 cousins.
Lord, help our families; bring parents back to the love they had when they got married.
For my brothers and dad to want to do right.
For Shagufta, Tahir, Isaac, and Alvin
Healthy pregnancy for Kate.
Lord, may my family come together and walk with You. I worry about my grandchildren on
what their lives would be like without Jesus.
For my daughter and her fiancé as they prepare for marriage.
Lord, remove our pride and restore our marriage as You intend marriage to be. May our broken
hearts both come to honor and worship You.
Peace for my family during this difficult time.
Lord, help my daughter stop drinking.
Lord, bring my children to know Christ.
