DAY 1 CLUBS and ACTIVITIES: May 29 through June 2, 2017 Thursday: Early Dismissal – 12:15 Periods 5, 2, 8 – Day 1 Schedule Friday: Early Dismissal – 12:15 Periods 6, 3, 9 – Day 1 Schedule

**************** SAMS 2017 Yearbooks will be distributed to students who preordered their copy on Friday, June 2nd. Students who eat second lunch will be able to get their yearbook during period 6. Students who eat first lunch should stop by the Activities Office throughout the day to pick up their book with permission from their teacher. These students will not be permitted to get their yearbook in between classes or without checking in with their teacher for that period. Only students who preordered their copy online will be able to get their book on Friday. A limited number of extra copies will be available for any student who did not preorder their copy online. Interested students should stop by the Activities Office sometime next week. Extra copies will be sold for $50 cash. Checks will not be accepted.

***************** Any student who did not turn in their iPad with cover, cord and charging brick should return the parts to the Main Office as soon as possible. Families will be charged for any/all components that are not turned in. Families may also be charged for any damages to the iPad or components. Please report any damages to the Main Office immediately.

**************** Please be reminded that all elevator keys must be returned to Mrs. Antonucci no later than dismissal on Friday. If it is not returned, a bill will be mailed to your home for the cost of replacing the key.

**************** Any student with an Algebra 1 or Geometry summer packet – if you lose your packet over the summer, should go to the Shaler Website, select the High School webpage, and then select the Mathematics Department to select and print your packet. Packets must be completed and taken to school on the first day of school.

**************** Any student who was in the musical and ordered a DVD, please check with your music teacher to pick up your copy.

*************** SPORTS: Any student interested in playing football next year, the revised workout schedule for June is available in the Activities Office or the High School Athletic Office.

**************** The Shaler Area Slow Pitch Softball Club Team are now looking for players for the 2017 Fall Season for upcoming 7th – 12 Graders. Please come join the fun!!!. **************** UPCOMING EVENTS AND CAMPS: Shaler Area Boys’ Basketball Boosters will host a Summer Hoops Camp July 17th through 21st for Grades 4 through 9. Camp will be held at the Shaler Area High School. The cost of the camp is $100 and includes a basketball and a shirt. More information can be found on the flyers on the curvy counter outside of the Activities Office or contact Coach Nieder at [email protected].

**************** Information regarding the Summer Reading Events and Programs can be found on the curvy counter outside the Activities Office. Programs are for Grades 7 and up and unless otherwise noted.

Information regarding the Andrew McCutchen Youth Baseball Procamp can be found on the curvy counter outside the Activities Office. Camp begins August 3 at the Shaler Area High School for boys and girls in grades 1 through 8. The cost of the camp is $149.00. Use promo code “SAHS” to save 10%.

**************** LOST AND FOUND I have placed three tables outside of the Activities Office and have laid out Lost and Found Items and clothing. Please have your student take a look and the items. Also, if you are dropping off, picking up your student, please ask the Security Guard to let you look at the items. Any item not claimed will be donated to the Goodwill Fundraiser. I will put out more items as space becomes available so please make more than 1 trip to see the items. (I have at least 3 more garbage bags to set out.) GOODWILL COLLECTION – FUNDRAISER Shaler Area All-District Goodwill Collection will be held on June 17, 2017 from 9 am to 12 pm at the Shaler Area Middle School Parking Lot. By partnering with Goodwill, we are able to raise necessary funds for our organizations while helping a local non-profit fulfill its’ mission and put people to work! Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania sells gently used clothing and other items and uses the profit for job training programs and services. Help us raise money for all SASD Schools by donating gently used clothing and household goods. Items that will gladly be accepted: Books, sports equipment, tools, toys, shoes, pictures, musical instruments, linens, cooking accessories, electronics, glass and housewares, handbags, jewelry and clothing. Items that CANNOT BE accepted: Baby cribs, automobile/truck parts of any kind, car seats for infants/children playpens, building materials, baby walkers, accordion style baby gates, storm windows and storm doors, bunk beds, outdoor swing sets, bean bag chairs, all major appliances, television sets, hospital beds, hot water heaters, beauty shop equipment, propane heaters, chemicals of any kind (engine oil), gas appliance of any kind, household trash or raw sewage, firearms and ammunition, lamps without a polarized plug and safety helmets (used). *Furniture and computers cannot be accepted at donation drives. Please donate these items to your nearest Goodwill store and donation center.
