Time is almost upon us again to start thinking about the upcoming season of the Middle Atlantic Wres-tling Association. Again the Middle Atlantic Wrestling Association is offering a comprehensive schedule of competition. We are beginning the 49th year of the Middle Atlantic Scholastic Wrestling Program in which 9,800 wrestlers competed last year. There are 36 District Tournaments held on six weekends at the following locations: February 28 at East Pennsboro, Enola, PA; March 5 Johnson City Middle School, Johnson City, NY, Conestoga Valley High School, Lancaster, PA and Susquehannock High School, Glen Rock, PA; March 6 at Central Mountain High School, Mill Hall, PA; March 12 Great Valley High School, Malvern, PA; March 12 & 13 Fauquier County High School and Nansemond River High School, Suffolk, VA; March 13 at River Hill High School, Clarksville, MD and North Allegheny Inter. School, Pittsburgh, PA; March 19 at Athens High School, Athens, PA, North Schuylkill High School, Fountain Springs, PA; Tunkhannock High School, Tunkhannock, PA; Manchester High School, Manchester, NH; Juniata High School, Mifflintown, PA; Annapolis Area Christian School, Severn, MD, A. I. Dupont High School, Greenville, DE; March 19 & 20 Windham High School, Williman-tic, CT; March 20 Poca High School, Poca, WV; Fair Lawn High School, Fair Lawn, NJ, Mifflinburg High School, Mifflinburg, PA, Washington Township High School, Sewell, NJ and Northern Burlington Regional High School, Columbus, NJ; March 26 Upper Merion High School, King of Prussia, PA, Waynesboro High School, Waynes-boro, PA and Chestnut Ridge High School, New Paris, PA; April 2 Cranberry Plaza, Pennsville, NJ, Toms River East High School, Toms River, NJ; Middletown High School, Middletown, NY and Canisteo-Greenwood High School, Canisteo, NY, April 3 Warrior Run High School, Turbotville, PA, Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, PA and West Orange High School, West Orange, NJ; April 10 Pennridge High School, Perkasie, PA; April 16 Northampton High School, Northampton, PA. From these district tournaments, the top three will qualify for the Middle Atlantic Wrestling Association Regional tournaments.

This year Regional Tournaments will be held on April 9 & 10 Wicomico Civic Center, Salisbury, MD, April 16 & 17 Shamokin High School, Coal Township, PA, April 23 & 24 Chambersburg High School, Chambersburg, PA and at Liberty High School, Bethlehem, PA. From these Regional Tournaments, the top four will advance to the Middle Atlantic Wrestling Association’s Eastern National Wrestling Championships to be held on May 7 & 8 at the Wicomico Civic Center, Salisbury, MD. There is an additional $12.00 entry fee required for the Regionals and Finals. Again this year there will be a match at the Regional Tournaments to determine 5th and 6th places and will be alternates for the Eastern Nationals.
