Ash- softer wood, wood flexes, flakes
Maple- doesn’t flake, doesn’t flex, hard wood
Birch- flexes more than maple, more durable than ash

I bought my wood from http://www.woodbillets.com/.
I bought one birch billet and one ash billet.

Needed to find the dimensions for the bats.
From www.pennstateind.com, I got the needed diameters for a 32 inch bat.

Practice on smaller scale version of bat.
Start cutting my bat.

Only problem is with a lathe.
