It is a software based company in Redmond, Washington, U.S.

It’s best software is ‘WINDOWS’ – a kind of operating system.

Company’s revenue is US $86.83 Billion (2014), and no. of emplyees working is 128,076 (2014).

With the aquition of Nokia – the company entres in smart phone hardware market.

Compeitors are : Apple Inc., Google Inc., Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., International Business Machines Corporation.

Microsoft is top software company . Microsoft has a monopoly in market where it

enjoys a large and stable market share. The European Union brings commission hit

with $781 million fine. The company begun to make changes to its

current business model by innovative new thing and pursuing Yahoo, as its search engine.

The U.S. DOJ settled it antitrust case in November 2001.

Settlement dedicated that customers must have choice about what windows components are mandatory in any installation of operatinf system and Microsoft must disclose certain information to allow third party developers

U.S. DOJ settled its antitrust case. To share its business secrecy with its market

competition.
