    3. Balanced analog InputMudio Input is via a female cd" connector0 TheInput is electronically Nalanced with followingconnections0 The connections are printed onthe rear for easy reference0

If your signal source is unNalancedF usually theunused pin is connected to ground0 This isnormally done inside the connecting caNle0Special adaptors Hnot suppliedI can Ne Noughtthat converts Slr input to single ended ">M typeinput0 :or Nest result use only good Yualityscreened caNles and connectors0

SwitchesOn the rear of the monitor you will find ;switches for setting up the monitor for optimumperformance in different acoustic environments0^ach switch is eSplained in the following0

    4. Uigh Pass filter switchThis switch sets the lower cutLoff freYuency ofthe monitor0 It is used to match the monitor to asuNwoofer0 You can select Netween =P5z orEP5z cLover0 :lat is used in case you do notuse a suNwoofer to assist your monitors0 Whenused with a suNwoofer it is recommended touse either =P5z or EP5z filterF thus allowing ahigher undistorted soundLpressure level0

    5. Level trimVse this switch to match the sensitivity of the]M ;M >ompact monitor to your source0

5ighLoutput sourceIf your source has a high OutputF set the switchto the L!P position to reduce the sensitivity Ny!Pd]0

dowLoutput sourceIf your source has low outputF set to e9 positionto gain 9d] more sensitivity0

    6. LFThis switch controls the Nass gain level usingshelfLtype ^f0 The level can Ne set to e1d]FPd] or L1d]0This filter is used to adXust for the proSimity ofNoundariesF so if positioned close to wall orcornerF use the L1d] setting0 If positioned farfrom walls use the e1d] or P positionFdepending on other eYuipmentF and personaltaste0

    7. MFThis switch sets a notch filterF used tocompensate for the acoustic effect of a console0Such placement usually results in a responsepeaR in lower midrange0 The M: switchactivates a Nell shaped notch filterF which cancompensate0 Vse either the L1 or the L9d]setting0 You may eSperiment finding the settingFwhich provides the flattest response0

    8. UFThis switch controls the TreNle level and it isused to match the high end of the monitor toyour other electronic eYuipmentF and youracoustical environment0 Vse the settingproviding the preferred timNre0 If the sound istoo Nrightg try to set to L!d] to reduce treNle Ny!d]0 If too dull soundF use e!d] setting to raisethe treNle Ny !d]0

IndicatorsOn the front you will find 1 diodes0 These arepositioned Xust aNove the Dynaudio dogo0

The green power diode indicates speaReronUoff status0 hreen indicatesg ipower onj0

The second diode has two functions0 Thiswill light up orange when the input signal

reaches a level where the limiter is activated toprevent the internal Nass amplifier fromclipping0 Mnd it will light up red when theamplifier gets too hot0 Mt the same time themonitor will Ne mutedF in order to reduce thetemperature0

ProtectionThe ]M ;M >ompact monitor has several Nuiltin protection systems to reduce the risR ofhazard or damage due to overloading0]oth power amplifiers have thermal protection0This activates if a proNlem should occurF andhelps protect Noth the electronics and theloudspeaRer drivers0

There is also a thermal sensor measuring thetemperature on the heat sinR0 Mn electroniccircuit will mute the signal when too hightemperature is reached0 The protection diodeon the front will light up when this happens0

On the tweeter output there is an overloadprotection to prevent Nurning the tweeter driverin case of overloading0 This circuit will mute thetweeter signal if too much current is fed to thetweeter0

The woofer channel has a Nuilt in limiter thatprotects the woofer unit from too mucheScursion0 It worRs Ny reducing the gain of thecircuit when a certain threshold level isreached0

PositioningThe ]M ;M >ompact is designed as a near tomidLfield monitor and can Ne eYually well usedin Noth stereo and surround setups0 Optimalperformance is achieved when positioned !L4meters from the listener0 It can Ne placed on stands or on the meterNridge of a console provided that the meterNridge is sufficiently sturdy0 :or Nest results thespeaRers may Ne aimed towards the listener inNoth vertical and horizontal planes0
