  • What: The Red Cross partnered with us for our service learning project to help give aide to Tennessee due to the flooding they have been experiencing. We decided to sell tickets in advance and take walk-ins for our fundraiser. It was held on June 8, 2010 at Atonement Lutheran Church between 5pm and 7pm

  • The Dinner: For our dinner, we decided to make spaghetti, garlic toast, a small salad, and some desserts (Donated by Janell Holt and Deb Krogstad). We set it up buffet style and allowed everyone to servethemselves. On the tables, were three different table tents, with pictures and information from the flooding in Tennessee.

  • Struggles 1. Our first struggle was after we decided on our project. We originally wanted to do chili for Chile to raise money because of the resent earthquake they have been having. BUT, we soon found out that Chile really didnt need the aide, nor was it really weather for chili. 2. Our second struggle came after finding out that our original place to hold our event fell through, so then we needed to figure out a different location. 3. We then had our event planned, posted signs, facebook events, on various other websites, advertising our event, with a phone number to call for advanced tickets, but no one called, which worried us. But in the end, our event turned out fairly well.

  • Glue: Our difference in service learning colors held us together and kept us going, even when we figured out that our original plan was not going to be a success.
