What is MSME? MSME-Development Institute is headed by Development

Commissioner, Micro Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME), Government of India.

It is an apex body and a nodal agency for formulating, coordinating and monitoring the policies and programmes for promotion and development of Micro Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME).

The Programmes for promotion, development and services are provided through a network of MSME-Development Institute (MSME-DI).

MSME-Development Institute, Nagpur is situated in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Eleven district of Vidarbha region are under the jurisdiction of this Institute, namely Amaravati, Akola, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal.

MSME-Development Institute, Nagpur provides various types of services including consultancy/ assistance in setting up of units, promoting and developing products and services for the MSME.

The Institute has technical officers to provide guidance in all trades.

Programmes and Consultancy :Under this activity, the Management

Development Programmes are organized with the objective of improving managerial competence of MSME units. The areas of MDP include Industrial Management, Marketing Management, Industrial and Commercial Laws, Financial Management, Export Marketing etc. The institute is capable of providing management consultancy to individual units.


V. Export Promotion Under this activity, trainings in Export

Marketing, Export Procedure and Documentation and Export Management are provided to MSME Units. The export-worthy units are also motivated to participate in international trade fairs and apply for different awards to bring their achievements in limelight.


VI. Skill Development Trainings The institute is organizing Skill Development

Trainings in the Institute as well as in out reached areas for the benefit of educated unemployed youths. Some of the programmes are exclusively for SC/ST, Women and Weaker Sections. The activity includes – • Industrial Motivation Campaigns • Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programmes • Entrepreneurship Development Programmes • Faculty support to NGOs and Academic Institutions
