Classification of Pressure Equipment

Micro Motion products, defined as pressure equipment (pressure accessories) with respect to thePressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC, have been classified in accordance with Article 9,Classification of Pressure Equipment. Products that are below or equal to the limits in Article 3,sections 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 2 must be designed and manufactured in accordance with soundengineering practice. The Commission's Working Group "pressure" guideline 9/19 indicates,while a EC Declaration of Conformity can not be drawn up, a statement may be provided thatindicates sound engineering practice requirements have been met. The listed Micro Motionproducts are classified as designed and manufactured to sound engineering practice.

Pressure Equipment Directive, Article 10, conformity assessment does not include a category andassociated assessment procedures for sound engineering practice. Micro Motion products thatwere classified and a subsequent PED category assigned are assessed in accordance with moduleB or H.

Micro Motion has one universal quality system that has been determined to comply with moduleD and H by the Notified Body for the categorized products. All Micro Motion PED CE markedproducts and those products that are not marked (SEP) are designed in accordance with therequirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B31.3 Process Pipingcode and manufactured to the same assessment procedures.

This information is respectfully presented to indicate that all Micro Motion products have beenevaluated and the above listed products are solely classified as sound engineering practice.
