=================================================================================MICHIGAN GOLFER CONGRATULATES OUR FIRST EDITOR, TERRY MOORE, ON HISINDUCTION TO THE HALLMichigan Golf Hall of Fame - Indianwood G&CC - May 15, Indianwood G&CC 12:30 Registration -Induction Ceremony 7:00Inductees: Arthur Hills, Don Perne, Jim Briegel & Terry Moore=================================================================================We are delighted that the Michigan Golfer's first editor, Terry Moore, is being inducted into theMichigan Golf Hall of Fame this Sunday. Terry helped our company launch the publication int 1983and made it a force in Michigan golf. During his 18 year tenure he put together a formidable writingteam of golf journalists and photographers. Their collective contributions made the Michigan Golferone of the premier state golf publications in America.

Besides his contributions as editor of the Michigan Golfer, Terry headed up the first Michigan GolfSummit, was an original partner in the television show Golfing Michigan, a principal in his golf radioshow, All About Golf, the owner/originator of the West Michigan Golf Show and of late, has taken hiswriting talents to the online site, the A Position http://theaposition.com.

On the association side, he has been a board member of the GAM and a long time member of the GolfWriters Association of America. He has covered the Masters for more than two decadeshttp://michigangolfer.tv/2010shows/masters_berry/ and has interviewed significant personalities in thegame. Gary Wiren http://michigangolfer.tv/2007shows/garywiren/, Bart Lower http://michigangolfer.tv/2006shows/lower/, Brad Dean http://michigangolfer.tv/2006shows/crystalmountain/ and Jim Flick http://michigangolfer.tv/2005shows/flick/ .

Terry has been a friend and colleague for more than 40 years. We started our writing careers togetherby submitting jokes and stories to the likes of the late Bob Talbert of the Free Press, Oscar Fraley ofGolf Magazine, Pete Demaagd of the Grand Rapids Press and collaborated on a golf joke book, "TheFront Nine and Back Nine", in the late 70's.

The Michigan Golfer has undergone considerable changes in our almost three decades of publication.

We began The MG as a print publication in 1983, our online publishing started in 1995 and ourMichigan Golfer News and Michigan Golfer Television show started in 2001. In its print "hey day" theMichigan Golfer had a press run of 21,000 issues, six times a year. Through May of this year, we havecreated 37 Michigan Golfer Television shows, sent out 18 issues of Michigan Golfer News to over15,000 subscribers and published two online issues of the Michigan Golfer and 18 online issues ofMichigan Golfer News. One of the many benefits of these changes is that when you wonder about thegreatness of Terry Moore, you just have to google it and it will be there.http://www.google.com/search?q=terry+moore+michigan+golfer&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

“I might need a caddy for my emotions,” said Moore, who will turn 61 before the ceremony. “They’regoing to have to grab my emotions and tell me which club to pull out. I’m going to be very thankful andvery appreciative and humble about it so I just hope I can pull it through under pressure.”

More Moore: http://www.localme.me/art/grand-rapids-terry-moore-will-be-inducted-into-the-michigan-golf-hall-of-fame (Taken from Localme)

Moore will be joined in this year’s hall of fame class by course designer Arthur Hills, Ferris StateUniversity golf management program co-founder Don Perne, and Jim Briegel of Detroit.

Note: Terry, it has been a long and storied journey since the "Saginaw Cutoff".

Cheers, Art

==========================================================PGA TOUR CONFIDENTIAL: REMEMBERING SEVE BALLESTEROS==========================================================Gary Van Sickle: "Seve had an odd relationship with the media. At his press conferences, he'd respondto questions with funny little remarks and quips and the whole room would be chuckling. They seemedlike good interviews. But when you sat down to write and went through your notes, you discovered thathe actually hadn't said anything or answered any of the questions. He did it in such a good-naturedway, though. Tiger just stonewalls us — he knows he's doing it, we know he's doing it, and he knowswe know he's doing it. Seve's most famous quote might have been about how he four-putted once: 'Imees, I mees, I mees, I make.'"Read more: http://www.golf.com/golf/tours_news/article/0,28136,2070382,00.html#ixzz1Lsc0bUZi

================================================MGCOA ALERTS MEMBERS TO A RESTAURANT SCAM================================================"This morning the MGCOA office received a call from a member in Livingston Couty. Please be awareof this as it appears to be happening in our state.

From the Health DepartmentLIVINGSTON COUNTYDEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH2300 East Grand River Avenue, Suite 102 Howell, Michigan 48843Environmental Health Division 517-546-9858 http://www.lchd.org

Livingston County Restaurateurs- PLEASE BE AWAREMultiple states, including Michigan, are reporting that restaurants are receiving phone calls fromindividuals claiming to be from the Heath Department. These individuals are requesting to schedule aninspection. They do not want access to your restaurant, instead they want to advertise and sellmerchandise on Craigslist, eBay or a similar web-based service, under an account connected to you.

Here is how the scam works-You receive a phone call. The individual claims that he/she is from the Health Department and providesyou with a 5- digit confirmation number. Then, informs you that you will receive an automated calllater that day and instructs you to enter the 5-digit confirmation number, to schedule an inspection. Ifyou enter the 5-digit confirmation number, you have allowed the scam to work. The individual callinghas satisfied the verification controls of Craigslist, eBay or a similar web-based service. Now theindividual will be able to advertise and sell merchandise, under an account connected to you.

Several Livingston County Restaurateurs have been contacted by this scam and indicated that theindividual calling sounded official and was very direct. The Livingston County Department of PublicHealth (LCDPH) is not aware of any Livingston County Restaurants where the scam worked. OneLivingston County Restaurateur was able to obtain an individual's personal phone number - he wascalling from California.

==================MINZEY'S MUSINGS==================A Little Golf Story

A father put his 3 year old daughter to bed, told her a story and listened to her prayers which ended bysaying:"God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, God bless Grandma and goodbye Grandpa."

The father asked, "Why did you say goodbye Grandpa?"The little girl said, "I don't know, Daddy, itjust seemed like the thing to do."

The next day grandpa died.

The father thought it was a strange coincidence. A few months later the father put the girl to bed andlistened to her prayers which went like this: "God bless Mommy, God Bless Daddy and goodbyeGrandma."

The next day the grandmother died.

"Holy Moley, thought the father, "this kid is in contact with the otherside."

Several weeks later when the girl was going to bed the dad heard her say:"God bless Mommy andgoodbye Daddy."He practically went into shock.

He couldn't sleep all night and got up at the crack of dawn to go to his office. He was nervous as a cat

all day, had lunch and watched the clock. He figured if he could get by until midnight he would beokay.

He felt safe in the office, so instead of going home at the end of the day he stayed there, drinkingcoffee, looking at his watch and jumping at every sound. Finally, midnight arrived, he breathed a sighof relief and went home.

When he got home his wife said, "I've never seen you work so late, what's the matter?"He said, "I don't want to talk about it, I've just spent the worst day of my life."

She said, "You think you had a bad day, you'll never believe what happened to me this morning. Mygolf pro dropped dead in the middle of my lesson."
