The Viscosity Shear Stability Test determines how well an oil retains itsviscosity when submitted to the high-heat and shearing forces withinmotorcycle engines. Engines operating at high RPMs and those that share

a common oil sump with the transmission are particularly subject tohigh shear rates. The oils that perform well are those that showlittle or no viscosity change.

AMSOIL Ea By-Pass FiltersThe Ea By-Pass Oil Filter provides the best possiblefiltration protection against wear and oil degradation.Working in conjunction with the engine’s full-flow oilfilter, the AMSOIL Ea By-Pass Filter operates by fil-tering oil on a “partial-flow” basis. It draws approxi-mately 10 percent of the oil pump’s capacity at anyone time and traps the extremely small, wear-causingcontaminants that full-flow filters can’t remove. TheAMSOIL Ea By-Pass Filter utilizes a new high-effi-ciency by-pass filter element that is also a sootremoval device. These filters remove 39 percent ofsoot contaminants less than one micron. Soot removalefficiency increases approximately 10 to 14 percentwhen the Ea By-Pass Filter is used in conjunctionwith a standard full-flow filter.

AMSOIL Synthetic Automatic Transmission FluidAMSOIL Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid(ATF) exceeds the performance requirements fordomestic and foreign automatic transmission fluidapplications, providing excellent lubricating protec-tion and better performance over a wider temperaturerange than conventional automatic transmissionfluids.
