*Invocation LSB p. 278 (stand and face processional cross at the back of the nave)
*Remembrance of Baptism LSB p. 278 P: In Holy Baptism Michael Frederick Luth was clothed with the robe of
Christ's righteousness that covered all his sin. St. Paul says, "Do you not
know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were
baptized into His death?"
C: We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in
order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of
the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have
been united with Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be
united with Him in a resurrection like His.

Hymn 878 Abide with Me
1 Abide with me, fast falls the eventide.
The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
6 Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies.
Heav’n’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
