2020 World Cruise – Featured PortsFor more information on these and all World Cruise ports of call visit seabourn.com

Cartagena, Colombia Cartagena de Indias was an important station of the Spanish Main, where galleons laden with South America’s gold, emeralds and other riches began their transit to gild the cathedrals of Cádiz. High walls erected to ward off British raiders are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, hosting restaurants, cafés and boutiques – and visitors still discover hand-worked gold and emeralds in the colorful streets along the Caribbean seafront.

Saline Bay, Mayreau, St. Vincent & the Grenadines No cruise through the Caribbean would be complete without a pause at an unspoiled yacht harbor to enjoy an afternoon of complimentary watersports and a lavish barbecue feast laid out on a sugar-white beach. And it wouldn’t be complete without smiling waiters serving Champagne and Caviar in the Surf ®*, waist-deep in the warm Caribbean waters.

Dakar, Senegal (overnight) The Parisian-style boulevards of Dakar bespeak its history as the center of French West Africa, but its streets are vivid with the colors of the fashionable Sénégalaise in their flowing Grands Boubous and elaborate turbans. The Musée Théodore Monod displays artifacts from the indigenous cultures, while the old slavers’ fortress on Gorée Island tells a different, tragic tale. The old capital of Saint-Louis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Abidjan, Ivory Coast The skyscrapers that shape the skyline of Abidjan tell only part of the story of this boom-and-bust West African capital. Africa’s modern showplace has also suffered internal strife that decimated its aspirational economy. The large Musée des Civilisations de Côte d’Ivoire reveals the inherent creativity and aesthetic sophistication of its people, and the Banco National Park preserves a remnant of its lush interior forests within the city’s confines.

Walvis Bay, Namibia (overnight) The immense dunes and rusting shipwrecks give this shoreline its Skeleton Coast nickname, but the dramatic Namib Sand Sea landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Elephants and lions haunt the dunes, the lagoons teem with flamingos, whales, dolphins and seals, and wildflowers blanket the shores. An overnight stay offers stargazing superior to virtually any other place on earth.

2020 WORLD CRUISE: EXTRAORDINARY DESTINATIONS

Cape Town, South Africa (overnight) The Mother City sprawls invitingly under the silhouette of Table Mountain. The Western Cape region offers diverse temptations from the world-famous gardens and wineries of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch to notorious Robben Island prison, the UNESCO World Heritage Site where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. During your overnight stay, also visit the Cape of Good Hope, and ascend Table Mountain by cable car for breathtaking views.

Durban, South Africa The Indian Ocean beaches of the “Sunshine Coast” are a favorite playground for South Africans. Visitors from afar are more often attracted by the colorful tribal cultural heritage of the KwaZulu-Natal region and its justly famous safari parks, where they can readily encounter the continent’s “Big Five” large mammals, to capture thrilling photographs and lifelong memories.

Andoany, Nosy-Be, Madagascar Madagascar is a world unto itself, isolated from the African continent for so long its flora and fauna are overwhelmingly endemic. You’re sure to be charmed by the enchanting lemurs on Nosy-Be, marvel at the huge Sacred Banyan Tree planted by the Queen of Sakalava in 1836 and be mesmerized by the intoxicating scent of locally grown vanilla.

Ilha de Moçambique, Mozambique A time capsule of the earliest European trade along the Indian Ocean coast. UNESCO inscribed it a World Heritage Site for the remarkably consistent architecture of its Stone Town, the Persian-influenced Swahili and European section and the macuti, palm-thatched buildings at the southern end. The Stone Town contains 16th-century churches and fortified structures built when it was the main Portuguese port along the route to India.

Zanzibar, Tanzania Zanzibar is a larger Swahili island, with its own UNESCO-cited Stone Town, where Persian sultans once resided to manage the maritime trade in spices and scents grown on the island. Cinnamon, clove, pepper, nutmeg and the ethereal perfume of ylang-ylang still scent the air. The beaches are spectacular, too, golden strands washed with creamy surf against an azure sea. A place you will never forget.

2020 WORLD CRUISE: EXTRAORDINARY DESTINATIONS

Mombasa, Kenya (two overnights) We’ll linger in this ancient Swahili city for three days, allowing guests to explore its colorful markets, the 16th-century Portuguese Fort Jesus, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and also opt for safari tours to several of Kenya’s world-famous game parks on overland extensions. Other options include snorkeling the coral reefs at Mombasa Marine National Park, swimming at Diani Beach or shopping for handcrafts at the community-run Bombolulu Workshop.

Victoria/Praslin, Seychelles When Europeans stumbled across the Seychelles, scattered over the purple-tinged Indian Ocean, they suspected these idyllic islands might be remnants of Lost Eden. Their climate is sublime, their people welcoming, and their beauty is legendary. We will visit both the sleepy capital on Mahé island, and also the photogenic island of Praslin, because we just can’t get enough.

Colombo/Hambantota, Sri Lanka The island once known as Serendip is famous for the tea that thrives on its highland slopes and the precious sapphires and rubies that emerge from its earth. We’ll explore its teeming capital, filled with Portuguese, Dutch and British colonial buildings, Buddhist pagodas and vividly painted Jain temples, and also visit the island’s natural side in the Hambantota region near the Yala and Bundala national parks.

Chennai, India (overnight) Two full days give you time to experience one of India’s premier cities. Recognized as one of the world’s best cities to visit, Chennai has attracted a huge expatriate population, and boasts a dynamic culinary scene that National Geographic ranks with the best anywhere, a thriving and innovative wellness industry and a musical tradition that UNESCO has cited as a world cultural heritage.

Ko Kood, Thailand Your Captain can’t sail by this exquisite small island in the Gulf of Thailand without dropping the anchor for another Caviar in the Surf ®* party. Your Seabourn crew deploys a spread of festive foods under the palms, the cooks turn steaks and seafood on the grill, and waiters welcome you to belly-up to a surfboard bar afloat in the crystal-clear waters for iced Champagne and caviar.

Sihanoukville, Cambodia This attractive seaside resort offers beach-side temptations of its own, but nothing that compares to the magnificent medieval Buddhist temples of Angkor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. Tour the remains of this ancient Khmer capital including iconic structures such as Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and the Bayon on an optional overland extension.

2020 WORLD CRUISE: EXTRAORDINARY DESTINATIONS

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (overnight) Your Seabourn ship sails up the Saigon River right to the heart of this former French colonial capital, offering you doorstep access to its broad Parisian-style boulevards and bustling shopping streets. Our overnight stay allows you to explore the city’s colorful market on a Shopping with the Chef tour and also discover the fascinating “rice bowl” farming region on a full-day river tour in the Mekong Delta.

Hundred Islands, Philippines Unexpected hidden gems are a Seabourn tradition, and none are more surprising than these lovely small islands (actually closer to 124) scattered among narrow, maze-like waterways. Remnants of an ancient coral reef, they are eroded into fanciful mushroom shapes, and invite exploration in a small boat, for snorkeling or to watch for wildlife including crab-eating macaques, civets, dolphins, occasional dugongs and sea turtles.

Puerto Princesa, Philippines The island of Palawan has its own UNESCO citation, for the world’s longest navigable underground river, at the Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park. Boats can carry you into this enchanted underworld, unless you prefer the sunlit surface pleasures of the island’s many inviting white-sand beaches.

Benoa, Bali, Indonesia (overnight) Bali’s visual beauty inspires spiritual serenity, for most Balinese religion is a normal part of daily life. They are also innately artistic, with creative traditions reflecting the beauty around them. All of this makes Bali an enchanting place to enjoy an overnight stay. Crafts villages such as Ubud have specialties. Jewelry, paintings, carvings and even sacrificial flower and fruit arrangements all reflect the serene and hospitable soul of Bali.

Slawi Bay, Komodo Island, Indonesia Komodo is drier than some of its neighbor islands, less lush and verdant. But its forests and savannahs are home to the immense monitor lizards called Komodo dragons, predatory reptiles seemingly left behind from a prediluvian age. On an optional shore excursion, explore the National Park island’s terrain to encounter these impressive animals up close.

Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia Plucky little Darwin embodies the independent pioneer spirit of Crocodile Dundee. Located on the tropical rim of the continent, it has endured cyclones and war, and come through with a unique humor. This is a great place to see some fascinating indigenous Aboriginal art. It’s also a good place to get familiar with the regional wildlife, and especially the unique “jumping crocodiles” that frequent its tidal rivers.

2020 WORLD CRUISE: EXTRAORDINARY DESTINATIONS

Cairns, Queensland, Australia (overnight) Sailing down the Queensland coast, you will pass into one of nature’s most extravagant displays – the massive, living Great Barrier Reef sprawling in multicolored splendor beneath the warm waters of the Coral Sea. Two days at Cairns provides you time to explore its vast, subaquatic ecosystem, teeming with vividly colored tropical fishes, as well as the nearby, primeval Daintree Rainforest National Park, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia The handsome riverside city of Brisbane welcomes you to Australia’s Gold Coast. Explore the city’s cultural center on the South Bank, including the contemporary collections of the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, or ascend Mt. Coot-tha to see the Brisbane Botanic Gardens. The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary offers close-up encounters with many of Australia’s unique mammals.

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia (overnight) Sail past the familiar scalloped silhouette of the Opera House and the distinctive Harbour Bridge to lively Sydney for a two-day stay. Whatever your interests, you will find plenty to entice you here. Indulge in the world-famous social and culinary district of The Rocks, venture to the Tauranga’s park and zoo for more mammalian encounters, or even dare a hair-raising (but safe) walk across the sky-high spans of the Harbour Bridge.

Kuto, Île des Pins, New Caledonia If you have ever daydreamed of a curve of sugary white sand washed by warm clear South Pacific waters, you may recognize Kuto Bay. The Isle of Pines holds surprises, including the remains of a once-notorious penal colony, a mysterious Queen’s grotto on the seashore, and a natural, crystal-clear “aquarium” hollowed out of the coral. The best news? You’re no longer dreaming, you’re really here!

Suva, Viti Levu, Fiji (overnight) Fiji’s capital is surprisingly cosmopolitan and a great place to stay overnight. The Fiji Museum, in the large Thurston Gardens park, holds traditional Fijian and other Pacific Islands cultural artifacts. Visit a Fijian Cultural Village to learn about the country’s rich and colorful traditions including handcrafts, music and dance, or explore the Colo-i-Suva Forest Reserve and have a swim in one of the waterfall pools.

Savusavu, Vanua Levu, Fiji This off-the-beaten-track port on Vanua Levu island is the entry port for yachts arriving in Fiji. Its atmosphere is relaxed, old-fashioned and laid-back, with a main street lined with a mix of shops, cafés, and secondhand stores. The coral reefs are unspoiled and gorgeous, encouraging Jean-Michel Cousteau to pick Savusavu for his premier scuba-diving resort. Snorkeling on these spectacular reefs should be on your agenda here, or possibly splashing in a waterfall pool in the virgin forest.

2020 WORLD CRUISE: EXTRAORDINARY DESTINATIONS

Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii (overnight) Hawaii’s capital is a grown-up South Pacific metropolis, sophisticated yet habituated to a casual, floral-shirt Polynesian style. The surf-washed curve of Waikiki Beach, backed by high-rise hotels, is a magnet for visitors. Fill two happy days here with surfing lessons, visits to the Bishop Museum and Iolani Palace, the moving Pearl Harbor monument on the sunken battleship Arizona or an ascent of Diamond Head for breathtaking views.

Manele Bay, Lanai, Hawaii Lanai is the least-visited of Hawaii’s isles, relatively untouched. The agricultural Dole family owned it from the 1920s. Oracle’s Larry Ellison owns over 90 percent today, and plans a self-sufficient community. Aside from the famous Challenge golf course and a Four Seasons resort, Lanai is mostly a place for horseback riding and unwinding. Hulopoe Beach is one of Hawaii’s best, with golden sands and deep blue waters that attract spinner dolphins and humpback whales.

San Francisco, California (overnight) And finally, gather on deck one morning as your ship sails gracefully under the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco Bay. From your berth along the city’s Embarcadero waterfront, its attractions including Chinatown and North Beach are easily accessible. Your final evening on board is spent docked in one of the world’s most attractive and hospitable cities, renowned for its sophisticated food and wine scene, as well as a vibrant nightlife. 12
