Greg's presentation will:cgnsist, of sh,owing sarn-ples, discussing ttre vaddty,ofegaves found, and aslide presentation of some plants in habitat.

MexicanAgaves cover all the variation found inthe genus. Both inflorescepgd e.s icate andpaniculate) are represented. Offsetting and non-offsetting types are found. Narrow leaves andbroad leaves, and desert, lrigh montane, and tropi-cal types are all found rn Monco.

Greg graduated from the University ofArizonawith a bachelors degree in horticulture. Afterworking in the tanOscape industry he went backto school. He received a masters dC$ee in PtantSciences with a dual emphasis on botany andhorticulture. While working on his rnaster'sdegree, Greg worked under tre tutelage of bothVarrenJones and Dr. Chades Mason. He leamedfirst hand many aspects of collecting expeditions.

Upon graduating from thC University ofArizona asecond time, Greg started his nursery (imrylna-tively called Starr Nursery) in 1985, and tryoughthe years has collected,tested, and introducedmany Chihuahuan Desert plants into the land-scape industry. He has *ritt.n

by Vona VatkinsFor anyone r#n", been wanting to take a niceday ffip to one ofArizona's choice garden desti-nations, with first class bus transportation, enjoyiuice, sodas and ottrer refreshments providedduring the trip and have a gleat free lturchcatered by Los Hermanos Restaurant, then youneed to be on the bus with all of us on Saturdav.November 3rd.This trip ro Boyce Thompson'Arboretum State Paf,k in Superior, Arizonawill give everyone an oppornrnity to see thisgreat botanical experience and be guided by oneof our own members,Pete Peffie. Members willalso have an opportunity to explore areas ontheir on and see some of the more than 800species of cacti and other succulents. I have visited there almost every year since coming toArizona in the early 80's and for anyone interest-ed in plants, BoyceThompson should be seen byall.This will be our last outing this year so besufe to get your seat on the bus.

On November lst our regular meeting will fea-ture Greg Staff. Greg will give us his orclusiveviews.on.findingAgaves in Mexico. Be stue toattend this presentation.
