FOREWORD
This Annual Sumnary of British Columbia Catch Statistics follows the genera? format originally used in 1969, however the figures are now showri in tonnes (1,000 kllograms). It will be followed by a detailed Annual Report to be made avallable on written request.
Prior te 1984, salon landed values published in the Annual Sunsuarv did not include bonus payments, Consequently payments made ti fishermen, particularli ?or net caught -salmon,.were under-reoorted. Since 1984 salmon landed value Is defined as the initialpayment to fishermen including any additional ad.justments and bonuses.
Monthly periods do not coincide exactly with ca?endar months, but are held constant at either four or five weekly periods as follows:
Four weeks - February, March, May, June, August, September, November and Dece&er.
Five weeks - January, April, July and October.
Under International agreement, Canadians may land hallbut at US. ports. Since 1964 these landings have been included in British Columbia Catch Statistics.
This report was complied by the staff of the Statistics Division under the direction of Mrs. M. Kostner.
