MULTIPLE

INTELLIGENCES

Page 2: MI and Me, Alicia

• Dr. Howard Gardner, was a psychologist and professor of neuroscience from Harvard University, who developed the theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI) in 1983. The theory challenged traditional beliefs in the fields of education and cognitive science.

The ability to create an effective product or offer a service that is valued in a culture.

A set of skills that make it possible for a person to solve problems in life

The potential for finding or creating solutions for problems, which involves gathering new knowledge.

WHAT IS INTELLIGENCE FOR GARDNER?

WHAT IS KINESTHETIC?

• Kinesthetic is one of the types of intelligences. It can be described as the action that occurs

as students/people do physical activities. It involves the body movement control,

manual dexterity, physical agility and balance; eye and body coordination, touching, feeling, holding, doing, practical hands-on experiences.

CHARACTERISTICS

Kinesthetic learners were sometimes called "hyperactive" as children.

They usually do well as performers: athletes, actors, or dancers.

Kinesthetic learners work well with their hands. They can do activities such as sculpting, art, or working with different tools.

Kinesthetic learners are well coordinated and have a strong sense of body movement.
