Our religion Islam tells usthat this world is a prepa-ration ground for the
world hereafter, which is our per-manent abode to live in. Oneshould keep this lesson of Islam in
mind. At the same time I also recallWilliam Shakespeare’s poetry fa-mous line from ‘As You Like It’spoken by Jaques that “All theworld’s a stage”. This was my les-son which I studied when I was astudent of English literature. Nowthe need to write this piece came tomy mind when my sincere col-league and brotherOmar Daraz passedaway peacefully aday before hisdeath, saying me “see you tomor-row”, I replied “inshallah”. Butwho knows that day would nevercome and he left us gloomy andsad. No doubt, everyone has toleave this mortal world one day butsome people are so lovely that theirdeparture to our next destination
leaves us sad and gloomy. OmarDaraz, a pious, straight forwardand polite man, who worked aspersonal assistant to our re-spectable Chief Editor of TijaratGroup of Publications Jamil AtharQazi. He was so devoted to hiswork that he never allowedwastage of any office items, in-
cluding undue elec-tricity use. Mya c q u a i n t a n c estarted with him
when I joined Daily The Businessin 2012 which later developed soquickly that it now seems that ourrelations were from our childhood. He used to wait for me daily at myduty time and whenever I was a bitlate his first question was “Khairiatthee” (all is well). His words used
to give me a sense of closenesswhich is rare and not so commonnowadays. The qualities of Omar Daraz
were so many but his knowledge, interest and inclination towardsIslam attracted me the most. I usedto spend some time with him be-fore starting my office work to hearIslamic teachings and somethingnew. He was in the habit of col-lecting some religious guidelinesfrom Urdu newspapers for me andused to convey me like a teacher. Iam indebted to him to what I havelearnt from him and what he told ortaught me.I have no words but to pray for
the eternal peace for Omar Darazsoul and courage to the bereavedfamily to bear this loss. —ameen.
