Emerging Air Taxi Industry
Aaron Sohacki is CEO and co-founder of AtlantaGeorgia based ImagineAir. ImagineAir wasfounded in 2005 and has been operating a fleetof Cirrus SR22 aircraft in its air taxi service sinceearly 2007. ImagineAir was the first air taxi inthe world to offer its customers live onlinebooking, allowing individuals to plan, price, andpurchase a flight at any time. ImagineAir is one of the first companies to utilizethe innovative new Air-Taxi concept studiedextensively by NASA, Virginia Tech, and otherinstitutions in the last 5 years in the SmallAircraft Transportation System initiative. Underthis system, air travelers fly out of their localairport avoiding long drives to internationalairports, and fly directly to the local airportclosest to their destination. This system not onlysaves an average of 3 hours per one-way tripover the hub-and-spoke system of airline travel, but also has the potential to save day travelershours on the road for shorter regional trips.
Before founding ImagineAir, Aaron assisted Delta Airlines and the Air Line Pilots Association as an independent intermediary, worked at Atlantic Southeast Airlines in flight operations engineering, and served as a flight instructor teaching the students, faculty, and alumni of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Aaron is a graduate of Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Management, and was selected as one of the school's top 30 under 30 alumni for 2008. He holds a commercial pilot's license with multi-engine, instrument, and single-engine ratings. A short video about ImagineAir is available by clicking here. Inside Today: Last Meeting
