What things do you find yourself saying you love? Have you ever tried to outdo someone? In what? Start thinking. Ask questions to get your group thinking. What are some concrete ways of showing love in this passage? Is it possible to have genuine love for someone you don’t like? Have you ever seen hypocritical (disingenuous) love? Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness. John challenged us this morning to be generous with words, time, affection, etc. How might the Lord be calling you to bless others? In what ways did this message challenge you to be transformed? Start digging. Read Scripture about loving one another. Ephesians 4:2-3 1 Peter 3:8-9 1 Peter 4:8 1 John 3:18 Start praying. Be bold, and pray specifically. God, thank you for your unconditional love for me. Help me to love others in the same way. Give me eyes to see the hurting and a heart to care. In Jesus name, amen. Start doing. Commit to a step, and live it out this week. How will you apply these verses in your life this week?
