Annual Meeting Information

Messiah’s Annual Congregational Meeting will be on

Wednesday January 23rd at 6pm. A meal will be served by the

Church Council from 5-6pm. Please be sure to come and

participate in this important and informative part of our

community’s ministry.

for our annual meeting, please do so by

The Breakfast Club

(10th-12th grade) will be meeting on

Tuesday January 8th at 7:15am at the

church.

Please join us for quilting at Messiah which

starts Monday, January 7th.

We quilt Mondays

from 1-4pm and Tuesdays from 10am-4pm Jan-

uary-March. Bring a bag of lunch if you wish!

Messiah’s fourth annual Chili Cookoff is set for January 27th @ 6pm! Come hungry and ready to try a wide-

assortment of chili provided by some of Messiah’s best cooks. All ages and levels of expertise are invited! Winners

will be selected from a variety of categories.

A free-will offering will be received.

Council Minutes November 8, 2018

The meeting was called to order in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Bob led devotions. MEMBERS PRESENT: Pastor Michael, Jodie Janzen, Larry Hosaluk, Bob Tuttle, Bonnie Hagen, Duane Er-ickson, Allen Olson, Rob Larson MEMBERS ABSENT: Shelly LaPlante, Sandy Baumgartner Additions/Changes to the Agenda: Add Tin Cup designation for December under New Business. Adoption of the agenda was made on a motion by Bonnie, seconded by Larry. Carried. OLD BUSINESS:

A. Update on Safety & Security: Draft of the Messiah Safety Plan was reviewed. If anyone finds revi-sions, additions, etc., please make note for the December meeting. Wikstrom’s bid for three security cameras was $3,000. Costco has a Lorax Security Camera package with six cameras for $800 which has been purchased. Scott Robinson and Bob Tuttle will be installing the package which includes DVR. There will not be a monthly fee. Will also need to purchase CAT6 lines and monitors. Total package is estimated to be approximately $1,500. New phone system has also been ordered.

B. New Member Welcome – Dinner & Gifts: Eleven new family units will be joining Messiah! Dinner is scheduled for 11/15/18 at 5:30 PM with Rob & Joyce Larson organizing the meal. Official Sunday Welcome is scheduled for 12/2/18.

C. Nominating Committee: Members met last evening and have just a few positions to fill.

D. Oven Update: Eileen Carter has researched oven options. Recommendation will be forthcoming.

E. 2019 Budget Prep: Bob, Allen, Aimee and Pastor Michael met to begin preparation for 2019 budget. Worksheet distributed for review. Discussion held regarding health insurance assistance.

F. Review of 2018 Goals: Four goals were set at the beginning of the year: New Technology, Safety Plan, Organization of current contact information and volunteers, and Contemporary Service Imple-mentation. All of the four goals are in progress!

NEW BUSINESS:

A. Staff Review Dates: Dates will be set for December.

B. Fair Rental Value of the Parsonage: 2018 - $11,725.00; 2019 - $11,885.00: A motion to accept the tax compensation for rental value for the Beery’s was made by Allen, seconded by Jodie. Carried.

C. Tin Cup Designation for December: After discussion, consensus was to designated the Tin Cup mon-ies for December and January to the Roseau Food Shelf.

E. Treasurer's Report: A motion to approve the Treasures Report was made by Bonnie, seconded by Lar-ry. Carried.
