C6 MESSENGER-INQUIRER, Tuesday, August 20, 2019 N o t i c e o f H e a r i n g D a v i e s s C o u n t y B o a r d o f E d u c a t i o n The Daviess County Board of Education will hold a public hearing at the Daviess County Board of Education Central Office at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2019, to hear public comments regarding the proposed general fund tax levy of 71.5 cents on real property and 71.5 cents on personal property. The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2019 was 70.7 cents on real property and 70.7 cents on personal property and produced revenue of $36,298,048. The proposed General Fund tax rate of 71.5 cents on real property and 71.5 cents on personal property is expected to produce $39,544,509. Of this amount, $5,646,889 is from new and personal property. The compensating tax rate for 2020 is 68.7 cents on real and 68.7 cents on personal property and is expected to produce $38,049,128. The general areas to which revenue of $3,246,461 above 2019 revenue is to be allocated as follows: Cost of collections, $65,904; building fund, $475,475; instruc- tion, $2,028,812; transportation, $405,762; and maintenance of plant, $270,508. The General Assembly has required publication of this advertisement and information contained herein.
