    THE MESSAGE OF CHRISTMAS DAY

    (This darshan session took place on December 25, 1971 and was originally published in the

    December, 1974 issue o Sat Sandesh!"

    QUESTION: Which does the Master feel is the most important birthday, December ! or

    T#$ %&'T$) $*ery day is a birthday+ e*ery day is the

    greatest birthday! ou are blessed+ you are seeing your %aster in

    the physical body! - am not so blessed! There is a *ast dierence

    between the .hysical %aster in the physical body and the %aster

    who has transcended into the /eyond! &t the human le*el #e is

    at the same le*el as you0it is all oy and ecstasy! The %aster

    does not lea*e the initiate until the end o the world, but i we are

    on the same plane both together! ! ! !

    'o happy we are, o course, when we are in the physical

    body with our %aster+ we can ne*er orget it! hen we remember

    those days, tears are shed, the heart bursts! #e is not away rom

    us! - know my %aster is with me! et with all that, the physical

    presence cannot be underrated! That is why, - tell you, you are

    happy, o course0- am not! -t does not mean that my %aster is not with me0#e is ne*er away

    rom me e*en or a moment! /ut to be on the same plane together, that is blessedness!

    'o those who ha*e a %aster should enoy e*ery day as 3hristmas! -t is only #is ill to

    enoy that! To enoy only eating and drinking, that is no enoyment! e should enoy being on

    the ay! - we are progressing on the ay, we should enoy #im inside as well as outside!

    hen my %aster let physically, - used to tell people who asked me) ook here, when an

    oicer, that soul, withdraws inside his own room, he ust engages a boy to run, to carry on his

    work!6 'o somebody is carrying on his teachings, his work!

    ou are blessed, you see+ but make the best use o it! %ay there ne*er be a day when you orget your

    %aster! emain in contact with the %aster0you ha*e a great boon0in that case you dont all away inlower pursuits! - you see your %aster is seeing you e*ery moment o lie, how can you do anything

    wrong8 'o blessed you are, - would say, on this #appy 3hristmas!

    The 3hrist .ower is the same working at dierent poles whether it is in esus or one o the other

    %asters, that makes no dierence+ 3hrist ne*er dies! e ha*e to become conscio#s o that, you see!

    Truly to commemorate, to celebrate the birthday o one %aster is to li*e up to it! /ut we should

    celebrate daily! This is the one thing you orget when you are sitting0i you remember him daily with

    an anguished heart, how blessed you become: e should celebrate the %asters birth daily, at e*ery

    moment o breath! ;uru &mar Das said) - - orget him with one twinkling o an eye0so much time

    0it passes like a million years!6 'o %aster is the *ery lie o the initiate) dont orget #im! Do nothing

    more+ youll become the mouthpiece o the %aster! 'weet remembrance o the %aster is the sum total

    o all practices! e do them only to show that he may not be orgotten in weal or woe! &s you think so

    you become!

    3elebrate your %asters birthday daily! #e is not the physical body+ #e is working through the

    physical body, and those are *ery ortunate who see him at that le*el! $*ery moment spent with him is

    *ery precious because you ha*e got the teachings both ways0oneuestioned!

    +#rmat Sidhant is a book written by me0through my hands, - would say, not by me, by the

    %aster within me! - used to write it down and take it to the %aster to read it to him, so that he may

    gi*e the

    inalyes) =nce - wrote what happened to an initiate who is let behind ater the %aster has

    let the physical plane! That was a *ery practical statement, description gi*en! There was a %aster,

    Dadu by name, who had an initiate who was not at the place when his %aster let the body! hen

    the initiate came to #is tomb, he lay down on the tomb and passed away! &nd he repeated this

    couplet) =h %aster, without ou - could not li*e or a moment! -t is not bearable!6 'o he passed

    away! The second ;uru o the 'ikhs, when his %aster let the body, became a recluse ne*er to

    show his ace to anybody! To li*e without the %aster is *ery diicult, unbearable! e know when

    the %aster lea*es, he is ne*er away rom the initiate+ but the initiate, as a son o man, has great

    suering! $*en now when - remember my %aster - shed tears! /ut he let his orders! hy8 There

    is no >uestion why!

    hen - read that part o the+#rmat Sidhant to him, he said) Thats all right+ @irpal 'ingh,

    read it again:6 - had ust >uoted two or three sentences like that! Then again - read it to him!

    &gain he said) ill you read it again86 &gain - read it! .erhaps he was telling me, ou, poor

    ellow, will ha*e the same ate awaiting you!6

    These are so many sweet remembrances o the %aster, you see+ this is e*erything! =ne poet

    says) To li*e in paradise without the %aster is a hell or me! &nd to li*e in hell with my %aster

    is a paradise or me!6 /ut these words can be appreciated only by those who are really de*oted to

    the %aster!

    - your son passes away, your mother passes away, how grie*ed you eel: - ne*er elt any

    grie, thank ;od! Thats a great suering you usually eel or the physical relations! hat aboutthe relation which is spiritual8 &nyhow, to be with the %aster is a great oy! That ;od .ower

    ne*er lea*es you! /ut make the best use o the time you ha*e here on the physical plane!

    =nce it so happened that my %aster was photographed or the irst time+ - was there! #e

    mo*ed rom one station to another! - ollowed him where*er he went! &t one place a man, who

    was a big landlord, was ust entering the room, standing by #im, and - was sitting by the door

    outside! #e re>uested the %aster) ell, %aster, will you gi*e me a copy o your

    photograph86 The %asters ways are *ery mysterious! #e told him) ook here, e*en @irpal

    'ingh wants it, but - wont gi*e it to him!6 - was sitting outside, you see! %ysterious are his

    ways! ater - said) ell, dear %aster, - know your lo*e or your %aster is the richest! oucannot scale it, how much lo*e you ha*e or him: /ut still with the little lo*e you ha*e gi*en

    That was the irst time he got himsel photographed! - you ha*e lo*e it is the panacea or

    e*erything! o*e is ;od and ;od is o*e! /ut i you want to ha*e this marriage you are ha*ing

    now! ! ! ! 'o the %aster always tries to >uicken the lo*e o the disciple or his %aster! #e

    knows what it was like with his own %aster!

    The Tenth ;uru, whose birthday was celebrated yesterday, played the role o a 'aint as well

    as an &*atar! =nce he was ound in sweet remembrance o ;od repeating) -t is ou, it is ou

    alone, it is ou!6 T#m haimeans it is ou alone, nobody else but ou, all the world is ou

    personiied! #e was meditating, T#m hai, t#m hai: ou are all, e*erything ou are!6 #e got intoAicated

    and went on repeating this or three days, day and night, T#m hai, t#m hai0it is all ou, Thou =h

    ord+ -t is all ;od!6 #ow can you imagine, appreciate these words o those %asters8 - you ha*e lo*e

    like that or the %aster, that will gi*e you blessedness as i you had done penances or a hundred years!

    - you take the %aster as a son o man, what will you get8 'onship0physical relationship! - you

    take him as a rich man, youll ha*e the same thing! - you take him as ;od, then you become ;od!

    There are dierent angles rom which hundreds come to him0only *ery ew really ha*e that attitude!

    *ery harsh words coming out through those red lips are the sweetest in the world!6 The blessed

    Eith ;uru says) $*en when you chastise us, it becomes *ery soothing to me on account o

    lo*e!6 hy is it sometimes he is strict like that8 #e wants to gi*e you a lesson in lo*e+ he wishes

    you to become like himsel! &nd you delay because you ha*e no lo*e or him! 'o take this to

    your heart0dont orget it orhim0then youll progress like anything!

    aords the opportunity! ou ha*e come rom a oreign land, spent thousands in money with lo*e

    and anguish to come here to stay a month or two! The people li*ing here donFt appreciate it like

    that0there are some who do, but many do not! 'ome may say the .ower o ;od is there! 'o this

    appreciation arises out o a grateul heart! -t is #is ;race, o course!

    %anbody is the highest in all creation! $*ery moment is worth millions, trillions, - would

    say, billions o trillions in money!Direct e*ery moment to #im, i we are to make the best use o

    e*ery moment o lie! @abir said) The time taken in taking one breath is worth more than the

    three worlds) physical, astral, and causal!6 ou see8 This appreciation arises only out o a

    corners! There is a man in one corner who has millions o dollars+

    whoe*er goes there, he gi*eshim money! The second corner is only or diseases+ those who come sick to him, he heals them!

    The third is or supernatural powers! &nd in the ourth corner ;od is sitting #imsel! #ow many

    will go to ;od8 Cery ew! .eople come only or worldly things, here and hereater, or or

    healing, or or supernatural powers! #ow many are there who come to ;od or ;ods sake8 Cery

    ew! .eople come to the %aster only or these three things0most o them: The man who comes

    to #im or #is sake gets put on the right ay! 'o youre blessed, you see! ;od has directed you

    rom within to meet you somewhere, where you can ha*e your true chance o ie, which is

    ne*er, like the worlds relations, rittered away, ne*er ruined, ne*er lost!
