SPACE IN EVERYDAY LIFE

As the world’s leading launch Service & Solutions pro-vider, Arianespace places space at the center of every-day life.

Our launch vehicle family is ready to orbit a full rangeof payloads, from telecommunications and televisionrelay platforms to environmental, defense, govern-mental and scientific satellites.

The company’s track record is built on more than 25years of success, which has earned the globalindustry’s trust. Since Ariane’s maiden flight in 1979,we have lofted more than two-thirds of all commercialsatellites currently in service.

Today, Arianespace bridges the digital divide: ourcustomers span the five continents and we haveprovided launches for over 90% of the world’s satelliteoperators.

GUARANTEED ACCESS TO SPACE

Arianespace is backed by 23 European shareholdersand the European Space Agency, and is supported bythe excellence of a highly capable international team. The result is guaranteed access to space at astandard of quality that all other launch serviceproviders strive to attain.

Our missions are performed from the Guiana SpaceCenter – the world’s only dedicated commercial launchsite. We have harnessed the world’s most up-to-datepayload preparation facilities and launch infrastructureto raise our launch rates and operational safetystandards to unprecedented heights.

Arianespace is committed to remaining the launchService & Solutions provider of choice, building on ourimpressive record of 254 satellites launched and morethan 290 contracts signed (as of January 2008).Our order book is by far the launch service industry’slargest, ensuring a continuity of operations for morethan three years.

THE TEMPO OF SUCCESS

We are determined to sharpen our edge as theworld’s Number 1 in our competitive market. Wecan tailor our capabilities around any customer’srequirement. Our impressive launch rates are onlyone example of that. In 2007, 6 Ariane 5 and 3 Soyuzlaunches delivered a record-breaking 21 satellites, adding up to practically 50 metric tons of payload.

And we are taking it further. We aim to speed upour tempo with more than 10 launches a year withAriane 5, Soyuz and Vega at the Guiana SpaceCenter, starting from 2010. This tempo is ensuredby Arianespace’s success-oriented structure. Ourcompany handles everything from contractsignature to in-orbit delivery, including marketing, customer relations and launch operations, whileour industrial prime contractors provide fully-qualified launch vehicles that are manufactured instandard configurations and at stabilized pro-duction rates.

Commercial flights with the medium-lift Soyuz willbegin in 2009 from the Guiana Space Center, joining the ongoing operations of Arianespace'sheavy-lift Ariane 5 and the new lightweight Vegavehicle.

Soyuz missions will open a new chapter in thehistory of this robust vehicle, which ushered in thespace age when it launched Sputnik - the world'sfirst satellite – in 1957. Since then, Soyuz hasbeen in continuous production, demonstrating itsunmatched reliability.

The modernized Soyuz offers a 3 metric ton payloadlift capability from the Guiana Space Center, whichis perfectly adapted to the growing market formedium-weight telecommunications and scientificmissions.
