19 has pushed us to e-commerce. It is important to use this time to findways to streamline your business. One of the first steps is implementingautomations to do more with fewer resources. Think about what you doregularly that doesn’t need higher-order thinking, or just day to day tasksthat have held you back from running your business. Financialprocedures are important, consider how you can streamline your payroll, taxes, and invoicing, make sure you don’t allow yourself to get behind bypushing your finance paperwork aside. This is imperative for success, make sure you keep an eye on yourmessage you are putting out there, “it’s not what you say, but how yousay it.” This quote is highly relevant in your marketing messaging morenow than ever. During this cultural moment shift, you should evaluate thewords your brand is saying. Avoid language that sounds like it’scapitalizing on the crisis. No “hot COVID-19 deals”. It is better to promoteoptimism, empathy, and hope. Just remember, the more you show yourhuman side the more people trust you and the more personable yourbrand will become. With so many people working from home, there will be more time spenton social media such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. This is alsoa great time to rethink your marketing strategy, if you don’t have one, Iwould suggest putting one together. Research the different platformswhere your target audience spends most of their time. Give them credibleinformation on things they need and how you are there to help them.Consider what you're offering. If you have people that use your productsor services including your employees, figure a way to support orcelebrate them on your social channels. There are resources out therethat can help you direct and redirect traffic to your websites and socialmedia pages. Remember these days you can make social media a placeof happiness for everybody. I realize this isn’t the solve all, but it is a start for all businesses to moveforward and get ready for our future including the Tracy Chamber ofCommerce.

Here are a few things we are working on. It is an exciting time to beinnovative and think out of the box. To meet some of our obligations weare excited to move our business to more online reaching people wehaven’t been able to in the past including our students. Over the last fewweeks we have conducted over 100 student mock interviews preparingthem for their professional future in the business world. We are building asite to hold a virtual job fair; this will be ongoing to help students andadults find positions and our businesses in workforceplacement. Improving our marketing plan is imperative to helping ourmembers with their businesses moving forward.

The Tracy Chamber of Commerce will be ready, and we are excited tosee what the future will bring. If you need assistance, we can refer you
