Finally, be on the lookout for an important initiative, the Email Consent Form (Electronic Communications Disclosure Authorization Form) according to Florida Statutes that will begin in May to request all residents’ permission for the Association to email them regarding general information such as this newsletter and other basic topics of interest. Electronic communication is faster, inexpensive, more efficient and environmentally friendly. Please note that all official correspondence such as the Annual Members’ Meeting will continue to be sent via USPS. We appreciate your prompt completion and return of the form in the self-addressed envelope as soon as you receive it. Detailed information and FAQ’s will be included with the correspondence. Hello neighbors! Thanks to everyone who took time to attend the April Board meeting and a very special thanks to those residents who stepped forward to volunteer for several of our committees! The importance of HOA volunteers cannot be overstated – Home Owners Associations cannot function without them and they help keep our association dues low. As the name reflects, home owners are shareholders in the community and an important ingredient for the quality of life and protecting your most important investment – your home! After springing forward to daylight savings time in March, most of us were preparing our annual income tax returns by the April 17 deadline. As the snowbird season winds down and a number of our seasonal residents leave, we wish them farewell and safe travels until they return later this year! Highlights from the April meeting featured discussions regarding pool rules in anticipation of the new furniture next month, including approval to establish the enclosed pool area as a non-smoking space. Other suggested policies are also under review and will ultimately be reflected with new signage as they are finalized. Major landscaping initiatives continue with the deep cut project having been completed on West, Place and North and currently underway on South. Palm and seed pod trimmings are also currently in progress this week along with the Western Preserve. Due to the deep cut and leaf cleanup project in progress throughout the community, regular trimming will be suspended for the month of May as a practical and cost saving measure. Lawn mowing will continue as regularly scheduled. Installation for trees damaged by the last hurricane is scheduled for April 30. Sod replacement is also being identified and planned. We appreciate your patience as we work to make our community even more beautiful with these activities. As always, if you have a special need,

Volunteer with the Coral Trace COP Program (Citizen Observer Patrol) – In partnership with the City of Delray Beach Police Department Would you like to become a part of the Coral Trace COP community volunteer team who help keep our neighborhood safe? COP program vol-unteers are trained to patrol the community in Volunteer Police Vehicles in an effort to deter potential crimes from happening. They are trained in communication equipment and obser-vation techniques and report suspicious activity directly to the police. After an initial training ses-sion at the Police Department, new volunteers are paired with an experienced member for sev-eral shifts. Volunteers are issued a uniform and asked to commit to a minimum of 8 hours per month, day or evening hours. The Coral Trace HOA provides alarm services through ADT Security Service as a part of your association fees, however in order for local emergency personnel to be alerted, you also need to register your alarm system annually with the City of Delray Beach Police Department at https://crywolf.mydelraybeach.com/RegForm/nethelp2/RegFormHelp.htm. GUEST PARKING Please do not use Guest Parking spaces for yourself. Request that your service personnel (maid, pest control, etc.) use your driveway or guest spots. ___________________________________

GARBAGE COLLECTION on Tuesdays and Fridays The crew will not pick up bags on curb – regular garbage must be in bins; plastic containers/bottles place in the correct bin; and paper/cardboard placed in correct bin – the crew will not separate these items and they will be left on curb. If your bins are damaged, call (561-202-2463) for delivery of new ones. The vegetation (tree branches etc.) is only picked up on Tuesdays. Recycles are on Friday. All garbage receptacles must be promptly removed and stored out of sight after collection service.

Volunteer with the Coral Trace ARC (Architectural Review Committee) The architectural committee's responsibility comes from the association's bylaws or CC&Rs. Members of the architectural com-mittee are responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and structural integrity of the asso-ciation and enforcing the CC&Rs. They should review any applications for modifica-tions, additions, or architectural changes in the community. There are typically around 2-3 applications per month for review and recommendations.
