practice diplomacy and negotiation skills. The first edition of DAV MUN was a grand success and has motivated
us to take it to the next level.
The three day DAV Sreshtha MUN 2018 would give the young students a flavor of organized
debate and enhance critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Students collaborate
constructively with their peers to improve on ideas. It is an excellent platform to make
the students well-rounded leaders. As they step out into the world, the young minds will
adapt to the global issues and will be positioned appropriately to solve the major issues

DELHI
Committees to be simulated
United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)
United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC)
Lok Sabha
All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM)
International Press (IP)
United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)
It deliberates upon all disarmament and international
security matters within the UN Charter, such as
development, peace and security.
This year, the annual session of the Assembly, will focus
on global peace, commemorating the 100th birth
anniversary of Nelson Mandela.
Akin to this, DAV Sreshtha MUN 2018 aspires to take up
the issue of the increasing oil demand, providing the
delegates an opportunity to put forward their concerns
and considerations, regarding the same.
UNGA is the principal organ of the United
Nations, which gives equal representation to all
its members, with each of the 193 nations,
having one vote.
AGENDA : UNGA
The oil crisis with special emphasis
on Organization of Petroleum
Exporting Countries(OPEC).
United Nations Human Rights Council(UNHRC)
It addresses many important human rights issues such as
freedom of expression, women and LGBT rights, and
freedom of religion.
The United Periodic Review is a significant innovation of
the HRC, which empowers all the States to declare what
actions they have taken to improve the human rights
situations in their countries.
Procuring inspiration from the same, our school has
taken the initiative to bring forward the draconian
consequences that armed conflicts have upon innocent
people, especially in the Middle East.
Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental
UN body of 47 countries, responsible for the
promotion and protection of all human rights
around the globe.
AGENDA : UNHRC
Protection of Human rights in areas
of armed conflicts with special
emphasis on condition of women
and children in Middle East.
Lok Sabha
With a current tally of 545 members, who participate and
bear witness to an articulate parley during sessions, such
as Zero Hour and Question Hour, laying the foundation for
formulating several laws and policies.
DAV Sreshtha MUN thus, enables the delegates to
recreate this governmental forum by representing some
of the most sought after political leaders, and
showcasing their eloquence upon the prominent issue of
national development.
Also known as the house of people or the lower
house in the Indian parliament, Lok Sabha is a
platform which showcases quality debate, both
analytically and rhetorically.
AGENDA : Lok Sabha
Addressing developmental challenges in
urban and rural India with special
emphasis on Goal 7, 9 and 13 of the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
All India Political Parties Meet(AIPPM)
The delegates would have a variety of political parties to
choose from, given the coalitional nature of Indian
politics today.
Amidst such an atmosphere, it would be a privilege for an
on-looker, to witness the delegates speak out their mind
about the simple yet disputable question of simultaneous
elections of the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.
AIPPM is an unrestricted, yet a potent
committee which emulates political realities,
providing delegates with a hands-on experience
of the challenges faced by political parties in
modern times.
AGENDA : AIPPM
Ways of strengthening democracy
through Electoral Reforms with
special emphasis on the question of
Simultaneous Elections in the nation.
International Press(IP)
Highlighting even the minutest of affairs they could get
their hands on, the IP corps would aim for complexity and
brevity at the same time, showcasing the significant role
played by media, by bridging the gap between the policy-
makers and the citizens.
This independent committee brings together
journalists, photographers and cartoonists, who
would witness the proceedings of the previous
four committees, and use the power of words
and visuals, to present everything that went on
in the duration of this event.
