I congratulate all the successful candidates and welcome all of them to the wonderful world of higher technical education. In the process of allotment, there has been an unfortunate mix up yesterday. Some of you may have observed that your allotted branch or institute has changed. Some of you who did not have an allotment yesterday may have got one today. But for some, depending on your choices, you might have seen your name in yesterday's list but are surprised to find it missing today, Before I proceed further, on behalf of the CSAB-2013 admission I beg you my unqualified apology. The mix up happened because of a computer glitch, which in turn originated from the fact that the name of "Orissa" state has changed to "Odisha". While the CBSE data base uses the old name, the CSAB data base uses the new one, and they both have assigned codes accordingly. Thus, the information, specifically the data on "home state" quota of 50% NIT in seat allotment did not match properly. The mismatch between the two data bases led to wrong allotment which ran across the whole spectrum of institutes and branches. There were also a couple of minor glitches involving UP and Uttarakhand students, and involving dual (architecture and engineering) seat allocation. The flaws have now been corrected. The correct seat allocation is displayed on CSAB website and has been made available to all Resource Centres (RCs). I ONCE AGAIN SEEK FORGIVENESS FROM ALL STUDENTS, PARTICULARLY FROM THOSE WHO WERE ERRONEOUSLY ALLOTTEED SEATS YESTERDAY. I sincerely hope that all of you who lost your seats (albeit erroneously alloted) because of the correction will secure seats in the second round of allotment. With best wishes, ~~ Sunil Kr Sarangi
