Getting StartedTo begin, click on the “View” link within the Message Center
Plan sponsor website: www.jhpensions.com/er or www.jhnypensions.com/er (for plans domiciled in New York)
The Message Center has been designed to make plan administration easier for you. It replaces all
the existing alerts, notifications and transactional emails from the website and puts them in one
central location. It gives you more control over what messages you receive from John Hancock and
how those messages are organized, prioritized and acted upon.
To fully benefit from the Message Center you should personalize your preferences, including which
messages you want to receive and when you want to receive them.

Email Preferences | Urgent priority emails
Here you can choose how often you would like to receive emails for urgent priority messages.
You can choose to receive these emails “once a day” or “immediately” by selecting theappropriate button.
NOTE: Some messages default to urgent priority to ensure you receive timelynotifications on tasks that need to be acted on quickly.
Summary emails
A summary email provides a reminder about all outstanding actions or tasks in your Message Center.
You can choose to receive the summary email “daily”, “weekly” “biweekly” or “never” by selecting the appropriate button.

Message Preferences The message preferences page allows you to customize what types of messages you want to receive and set their priority.

What to receive
The “receive” column allows you to control which messages you receive. Click on the “plus sign”to expand the topic and select “yes” or “no” to each specific message.
If, for example, you only want to receive messages about payroll files, you can turn off all other messages except those. Giving you complete control!

Setting Priorities
Setting your message priorities will dictate how and when you receive your messages:
Urgent – With this option you can deem certain messages as “urgent”, ensuring you receivetimely notification about tasks that need to be acted on quickly. Messages identified as urgentwill generate an email every day until the associated tasks are complete.
Normal – Messages classified as “normal” will be grouped together and provided to you in your“summary email”.
Note: Delivery of your “urgent” or “normal” messages will depend on how you customized your“email preferences”.
