mesa college parking structure fact sheet
DESCRIPTION
The East Campus Improvement Project included construction of a new four-level parking structure for 1,100 cars, a new 7,000 gross square foot, single-story college police building and a realignment of the campus' east entry. The new parking structure uses concrete that includes fly ash, a commonly-used coal combustion product that serves as a strengthening agent when added to concrete. As an open parking structure, there is no need for mechanical ventilation systems. Photovoltaic panels are installed on the top level, and help offset energy needs for the police station and nearby Allied Health Building. The realigned east entry provides for a simple, safe way to enter the new parking structure area and provide improved travel around the campus' northern edge.TRANSCRIPT

The new 1,100‐space, four‐level parking structure is part of an overall $34 million East Campus Improvement Project that
includes a complete road realignment and new east campus entry, along with a 7,000 square‐foot police substation.
Photovoltaic panels will be installed on the top level to harvest solar energy, offsetting the energy needs for the new police
station as well as the new Allied Health Building, a $24.9 million project located just west of the parking structure.
