MERRY CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS IN POLAND

• People in Poland are very true to customs, especialy the ones which are connected with Christmas. One of them is sending Christmas cards. In spite of the fact that we have got the era of e-mails and the mobile phone text messages we still consider Christmas cards to be most elegant way of wishing our relatives and friends Merry Christmas.

 

• Such cards can be: serious or funny, bought or made with our own hands, presenting some scenes from the Bible or secular, beautiful or slightly “naff”, but it is not important to us. All of them delight both the addressees and the senders.

• Some Poles attach wafers to their Christmas cards because breaking the wafer before Christmas – Eve supper is another Polish custom.
