MYRTLE TRACE BOWLING Winning 7 points in each of their last two matches, the Pin Pals (Dan Hayes, Joyce Hayes & Sue Lyons) won the first segment of the league schedule and qualified for the season ending roll-offs. The High Rollers (Ted Ackley, Jeanie Bastian & Bob Bastian) moved into 2nd place by sweep-ing Spare Me (Al Wellman, Annette Krapf & Tom Flinchbaugh) in their final match. NOMINATING COMMITTEE The Nominating Committee is pleased to announce that they have three

qualified candidates to fill the two positions that will become available and be voted on at the 2019 Annual Meeting. We thank them for their willingness to serve. Their names will be announced at the December 2018 BOD Meeting and in the January 2019 News & Views. MEET THE CANDIDATES

Please note that on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. you will have an opportunity to meet the candidates at the MT Clubhouse. It will be a time of getting to know your new Board members and hearing their vision for Myrtle Trace. We hope to see you there.

GARDENERS GATHER GROUP The Gathering of Gardeners met on November 8th in the Club-

house. Discussion was on the potential for a dedicated butterfly garden and subsequent raising of caterpillars. These plans for spring are still in pro-gress.

If you would like to help with the weeding and pinecone pick up around the front area of the Clubhouse, please call Ginger Sallas at 843-331-3028. This area belongs to all of us and we can use all the help there is available.

The December meeting on the 15th, will be with John Drohan. We will be making a Christmas decoration. All supplies will be provided for a fee of $22.00.

Gardening tip: One of the weeds you see growing now is Florida Betony or rattle-

snake weed because of the thick underground tubers that look like a rattle-snake. It is a member of the mint family.

PROPERTY COMMITTEE As mentioned in the Board Briefs, the resurfacing of Myrtle Trace Drive has been de-layed. We will make every effort to keep everyone fully advised in a timely manner when the sched-ule has been established. With the temperatures getting lower, we would remind everyone to shut off your sprin-kler systems and cover your out-side faucets. Rich McEvoy

Due to John’s passing dur-ing the hurricane and the flood-ing, I’m late with this but I want everyone to know how very much your lovely cards, flowers, food and donations to Catholic Chari-ties in John’s name have meant to me. John had lived here for 20 years and knew everyone and I was blessed with getting to know all the wonderful friends and neighbors after we married. Thank you again. Patricia L. Brunk

DOGS Dogs are unique. They are tremendous companions and they never carry a grudge. They are extremely alert and they probably under-stand us a lot better than we realize. Dogs are very intelligent and they give us unconditional love. Unfortunately, dogs are incapable of picking up after themselves. That’s where we dog owners need to take over. Most of our owners are very good about respecting the Common Grounds and our neighbors front lawns. However, a few of our dog owners do not and we would all greatly appreciate it if you would do a better job of picking up. Our dogs might appreciate it, too!!!

THANKS TO OUR NEWS & VIEWS “CARRIERS” Almost all of our News & Views Carriers have been serving us for several years. They faithfully deliv-er every month, on time, rain or snow!! Charlie Conklin delivers to Juneberry Lane, Ashwood Circle, Linden Circle and 101 - 210 Cedar Ridge Lane. They will appreciate it. I would like to add my thanks to my Delivery Crew. You do a great job month after month and you make my job much easier! Ted Ackley
