Meridien Bicycle Commuter Festival From its humble beginnings in the back of a biker bar, Meridien Bicycle Commuter Festival has now grown

into a yearly tradition showcasing independent films for and about bike culture. As it is never in the same place twice, be sure to check out the website for this year’s location and schedule.

Please enjoy our city. This is a sincere invita-tion we hope you will accept while you’re in town. Allow a few of these homegrown events to enrich your stay. Learn something new. Rub shoulders with the locals. But mostly, have fun. Maybe it will inspire you to tell others about what you’ve discovered — and to come back.

Sea Slugs, Sea Slugs by the Sea ShoreThe 105th Annual Nudibranch festival is all set to start in our wonderful community. We’ll have dozens of beach naturalists combing the shores of our waters, looking for someone to share their knowledge with. Even if you don’t have a question, stop anyone wearing a brown vest and pith hel-met, and ask them if they’ve seen

any nudibranchs (or sea slugs). You won’t be disappointed. You’ll learn more about sea life in one conver-sation than in college, especially if you went to college in our rival school across the bay. Bring your kids, your sun block, and your questions, and prepare yourself for the single greatest sea slug party of your lifetime.

Between the Bridges Winter Festival Between the Bridges! That’s all that needs to be said if you’re a local. When you hear it, you drop everything you’re doing, pile the kids and pets into the car, and spend the rest of the day cavorting about. So what is the Between the Bridges Winter Festival? It is what you make it! Come join the fun. If you don’t, you’ll wonder why you didn’t.

Please enjoy our city. This is a sincere invitation we hope you will accept while in town. Allow a few of these home-grown events to enrich your stay. But mostly, have fun. And remember to bring both sun protection and rain gear. You never know!
