IntroductionMEPS has completed 10 successful years in serving the construction industry in the Gulf. The growth of the construction industry in the Middle East, especially Dubai had been a catalyst in our growth. Now as the region braces for yet another construction boom, MEPS has further streamlined its matchless service which made us valued partners to our customers. The MEPS system is innovative, economical and meeting the international requirements.

Having known the requirements and the intricacies of the market through our close association with it for the last 10 years, we believe we are prepared to take up the new opportunities and challenges. The GCC is yet to see its biggest growth in construction industry. With the FIFA world 2022 in Qatar and the Expo 2020 in the UAE only a few years away, the construction service providers are set to play a large role in the construction industry. Company ProfileBased in Dubai where the standards of engineering excellence are stretched to the tallest, largest and biggest time and again, MEPS grew up quickly facing the technological challenges presented to it. MEPS is proud to have been part of many of these spectacular projects over the years. It is not only the caliber of the projects but the sheer magnitude as well of the works that were accomplished that makes MEPS unique.

In the last ten years we have completed more than 3million square meters of slab post tensioning, about ten kilometers of wall post tensioning and more than 300 bridges in the region. MEPS is the pioneer in Diaphragm wall post tensioning in the region. Its use of bonded mono strand post tensioning is a giant leap in sustainable engineering and superfast construction.

The state of the art MEPS system has been designed to the requirements of International codes and standards, yet offers simple and economical solutions. MEPS system has been tested according to the European Technical approval (ETAG013) and also fulfills the requirements of AASHTO.

MEPS is a member in various international forums and this keeps us in the forefront of technological innovation. Our Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008 also ensures that our products, services and internal processes are tuned to the needs of the customer and the satisfaction of our customers is the major theme of our quality policy.

MEPS specialize in construction methods such as precast segmental construction, incremental launching, stay cable bridges etc. Our services include Engineering, supply of equipment and execution of such works.

MEPS also offers Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls to our Clients. This makes MEPS a "one stop shop" for all bridge related services.

Post Tensioning in BuildingsThe use of Post Tensioning in buildings offers numerous advantages and is being increasingly used in the industry. MEPS uses both bonded and unbonded PT systems. In bonded systems the tendon types vary from single strand to five strands. If required, multistrand system can also be utilized in slabs and beams.

MEPS offers to work with the Clients from the very conceptual stage itself and thereby offer the best possible advantages of post tensioning. Our scope of works ranges from conceptual design to completion of post tensioning works and consequent monitoring where required.

The advent of modern codes like EN92 has made it possible to use Post Tensioning in superfast construction with the use of techniques like bonded monostrand post tension. Currently MEPS is the only company providing such services.

Many of these aesthetically pleasing structures would never have been possible without the use of PT technology.

Post Tensioning in BridgesMEPS is a highly qualified engineering company involved in the application of post tensioning systems in the bridge construction. The system can be successfully utilized in all types of structures such as standard cast in-situ flyovers, bridges and viaducts and simple pre-cast girders. The post tensioning system encompasses a wide range of anchorages and accessories to be used in bridges, stay cable bridges, arch bridges, launched bridges and external post tensioning. The accessories include the bar systems, saddles, deviators, dampners, gantries, hangers, etc to name a few.

The MEPS system embodies the latest proven state of the art innovations in pre-stressed concrete. The system’s components reflect the outcome of stringent testing being designed to satisfy wide international performance standards. By combining a wide range of anchorages and equipment with skilled engineering services, MEPS is capable of providing solutions for an extensive variety of post tensioning applications, optimum design, quality and economy being central features of the system.

The substantial resources of an experienced team of technical personnel provides MEPS a comprehensive engineering facility committed to innovative development as well as provide co-ordination with Designers, Contractors and Project Managers in planning and execution of specific projects.

MEPS system is tested for external Post Tensioning applications. External Post Tensioning system is used to minimize the congestion inside the concrete and to increase the corrosion resistance provided by the system. External tendons are easy to inspect, maintain and replace, if necessary. External post tensioning also results in savings in construction costs.

Construction MethodsMEPS also undertakes the design and execution of Incremental Launching, Precast Segmental Erection, Movable Scaffolding systems and its associated engineering works. Crossing the rivers, valleys and busy streets without disrupting the environment and the traffic has always been a challenge for bridge engineers. This is where the different Construction Methods used to construct bridges come into practice. We have several teams that are specialized in this type of structures.

We collaborate with the Consultants and Contractors of international repute to offer a wide range of construction methodologies. We can carry out engineering, execution, supply of the required gantries and molds and geometric control for the methods used.

Arch & Cable Stay BridgesMEPS is specialized in stayed and hanging structures as well. Various types of stays or hangers can be used depending on designer preferences and requirements which are usually based on the following: Loads, Corrosion protection, Installation, Stay lengths, Cost, etc

MEPS’s proprietary Cable System consists of tendons of high durability and fatigue resistance. It comprises of strands of 7 wires with up to 4 protective anti-corrosion layers. Our cables systems fulfills all the requirements of the FIB Recommendations for the Acceptance of Stay Cable Systems using Pre-stressing Steels. MEPS system can be used on stays and extradosed bridges as well.

We also use Locked-Coil Ropes mainly for medium span arch bridges, medium size suspension bridges and suspended roofs.

MEPS have been instrumental in altering the skyline of few cities around the world with some real icons.

Post Tensioning in Tanks & SilosPost Tensioning is widely used in storage structures for liquids, gases and solids alike. Our anchors are cryogenically tested to be used in application like LNG tanks.

MEPS offers design and construction of tanks, silos and protection barriers for applications like nuclear reactors.

As the storage structures grow large in diameter and height, Post Tensioning becomes inevitable.

Ground AnchorsMEPS is also specialized in temporary and permanent ground anchors. Our system uses strands and bars. Our double protected grout encapsulated anchor system is in line with the latest innovations in the field.

MSE WallMEPS MSE Walls uses the state of the art materials and design technology. Soil Wall or Mechanically Stabilized Earth Wall or MSE Walls as they are called, became an integral part of the bridges constructed in the area. These walls offer economical and easy install solutions for ramps, embankments etc.

Special Applications & ServicesIn addition to all our specialties, MEPS is involved in special structures using post tensioning. Design of special structures, like post tensioned diaphragm walls, is an example of the kind of structures where MEPS has proved its design and engineering capabilities.

These underground structural elements commonly used for retention system and permanent foundation walls named as Diaphragm walls. These walls are commonly used in congested areas. They can be installed in close proximity to existing structures with minimal loss of support to existing neighboring foundations. The diaphragm wall technique is a tried-and-true construction method that MEPS has mastered.

Monitoring, repairing and strengthening of existing structures is yet another speciality of MEPS.This includes inspection, testing and proposal for remedial measure like monitoring of stay cables for rain induced vibrations.

MEPS specializes in design of buildings, bridges, silos, MSE walls etc. Our team of experienced design engineers can provide value engineering as well as specialized construction techniques such as Incremental Launching, Segmental Launching, Balanced Cantilever etc. MEPS has the capability to undertake the design of bridge, gantry and casting yards and can undertake the geometry control and monitoring in such cases.

Post tensioned diaphragm walls, soil walls, ground anchors etc are few other kind of structures where MEPS has proved its design and engineering capabilities.

ManufacturingMEPS uses state of the art manufacturing facilities where the manufacturing of post tensioning anchorages, ducts and other post tensioning accessories are carried out. These facilities are spread out in different parts of world from Europe, Middle East and India to China.

The production facility consists of large variety of machineries, precision tools and equipment to carry out both manufacturing and maintenance work by technically competent and skilled personnel to achieve high quality of works. All the manufacturing facilities are ISO certified and the production is guided and monitored by the guidelines of European Technical Approval and certification.

All the materials that are produced at these facilities undergo stringent in-house quality control regime, followed by a third party inspection as and when requested. Periodical audits and testing ensures world class quality with local availability.

Testing & Calibration FacilityMEPS have in-house facilities for calibration of stressing jacks and testing of PT ducts and other component. The MEPS calibration facility can calibrate jacks from 20 tonnes to 1000 tonnes capacity. Calibration of jacks require heavy but high precision instruments like digital manometer, digital load cell read-outs etc. It also requires heavy frames to sustain the reactions applied from the jacks. These jacks are also used as load measuring devices when conducting friction tests and the like. To facilitate this, jacks needs to be calibrated in passive mode as load measuring devices. MEPS use heavy vertical lifting jacks to simulate the effect of jack acting in passive mode and record the performance of the jacks. One of the advantages in having the jack calibrated at our facility is that the condition in which the calibration is carried out in similar to that of site conditions.

In addition MEPS offers the possibilities to test the anchorage components for physical, mechanical and micrographic properties .The MEPS lab is fully equipped for such tests to ensure strict quality compliance. The tolerance levels for the equipment that we use are very stringent and that drives us to maintain our equipment to industry standards.
