they're spending less time on direct patient care overall.

Nurses in a hospital or hospice se�ing are most likely to be assigneda mentor, while those in skilled nursing and home care are least

likely to be paired with one.

EMPLOYERS�MAY�NEED�TO�NURSE�MENTORING�BACK�TO�HEALTH��More than half of nurses say their employers offer a mentoring program for new hire nurses. Of the employers that don't? Forty-three percent say it's because experienced nurses don't have enough time to mentor

and 41 percent say management hasn't bought into the idea.

The vast majority of nurses (90 percent) say informal training hashelped them with the technological demands of their job. In fact,

more than 3 in 5 say informal, rather than formal, training hasbeen most helpful in learning this vital skill.

More than half (57 percent) of nurses believe technology helps them do their job more effectively, and half believe it helps them do it faster.

The downside? Nearly half (46 percent) claim it hasdepersonalized patient care.

health care system will make their workplace less efficient, and47 percent believe it will bring down cost-effectiveness.

Relatively few feel the effects will be positive.
