TRANSCRIPT
The photographs in this album were
taken during an afternoon that we
spent with some Uros families living
on the Uros Islands - a group of about
40 floating islands in the northern
section of Lake Titicaca near
Puno, Peru, at an elevation of 12,500
feet.
They live on their “swimming islands”
they´ve made of Totora reed.
Diese Aufnahmen entstanden als
der Fotograf, David
Astley, einige Uro-Familien
besuchte, die auf den Uros-
Inseln, eine Gruppe von etwa 40
Inseln in der nördlichen Region
des Titicaca-Sees auf ca. 49
„schwimmenden Inseln“ leben.
Die Inseln fertigen sie aus
getrocknetem Totora Schilf.
