What would you say is the right length to have your trousers taken up? Joe from Somerset

I think generally it’s down to per-sonal preference, Joe. However the ‘rule’ is that they sit just on top of your shoe with a small crease at the front and completely straight down at the back, falling over your shoe (at the back) about half way up without touching your heel, or worse, the floor. Howev-er for me it depends on the cut of the trouser, more classic and I’d follow that rule but I prefer my trousers slimmer or tapered through the leg and with this I think it looks good just above the shoe or just kissing the top of the shoe without a crease. That way you can show a flash of colour or pattern with your sock choice!

Trainers with a suit. Thoughts? Ty from Merseyside

I’m a big fan, and it’s a growing trend at the moment Ty. I was recently in Hardy Amies (who’s founder has written several style bibles every gent should read) and every suited mannequin was teamed with a pair of new balance kicks, as was the guy working in the store. It’s been

spotted a lot at fashion weeks all over the globe, particularly here in Blighty and a good friend of mine has been rocking it almost religiously.

However I would vitally stress it’s down to cut and style of the suit and the trainer or else you’re in danger of looking like one of London’s suit’s who were their awful gym shoes with their ill fitting suit on their

5 WAYS TO WEAR THE CAMEL COAT

mfm S T Y L ES T Y L E B A S I C S

Noose & Monkey Camel Coat: £180.00

1) Double DenimYou don’t have to fear double denim gents; if put together correctly it can form a cool look that is worth the perceived risk. Pair the camel coat with dark denim selvage indigo jeans with a light wash denim jacket, so the combination isn’t too like-for-like and resembling one of the brothers from 80s boy band Bros. The camel colour works perfectly with the shades of denim blue. To give the look a bit of added bite we’ve gone for the classic redwing boot and a her-ringbone baker boy hat.

2) Suited & BootedThe camel coat is extremely versatile and works with most colours which means it’s a great choice of coat If your planning on wearing it with a suit for most of the week. Whether your suit is grey, navy or charcoal the camel coat works fantastically with them all. We’ve gone for a grey three-piece suit with formal shirt and a slim tie. Also with your formal footwear choose either a black, brown or oxblood pair of shoes. Be care-ful if your pairing a tan pair of shoes like a brogue. Depending on how deep the tan colour is it might not pair to well with the camel coat.

3) Winter LayeringLayering is a great way to wrap up during winter and look stylish doing it. We’ve gone for a plaid tartan button down with a cream thick knit jump-er. The cream and camel work as a complementing combination and the tartan gives the pop of colour. We’ve gone for a light wash denim, a jean that always has a few reservations but the light blue colour works perfect-ly in-sync with the camel and cream combo. To inject a stronger colour we’ve accessorised with the burgundy wool hat and finished the look off with the Stan Smith sneaker.

3) As someone thata lot of guys look to for inspiration when it comes to style what three pieces should all guys have in their ward-robe?

A good three-piece suit is great to have as you can separate the pieces and wear them in different ways. Every man must have a good pair of brown shoes, they finish any outfit per-fectly, and of course a really good quality, crisp white shirt.

4) Who is your styleicon past or present?

Hollywood old school style is very iconic to me - people like Cary Grant, Paul Newman etc.

2) Your known as one ofBritain’s most stylish men. How would describe your own personal style?

I think it’s quite traditional with a contemporary feel.

GROOMINGRESOLUTIONS FOR 2015

As the new year is looming many of us start to think about the type of person we would like to become and the ways we can improve ones self. The obvious choic-es for many, are to get in shape and lose some weight or for those that smoke vow-ing to give up the cigarettes in a bid to become healthier and happier.

1. Moisturise Daily

If you only pick up one of these grooming resolutions make this it. It’s surprising how many men still refuse to moisturise daily.

Not only does moisturising daily keep the skin supple and healthy it’s also a bit of an insurance policy against early wrinkles and dry skin which will make you appear much older than you actually are.

Now we can’t force you to get up and into the gym or to put down the cigarette but we can ease you into the idea that a few small grooming changes will go a long way to improving your appearance. Below are the top 5 grooming resolutions you can begin making come January 1st. There’s no need to take them all on from the get go but start with one and by De-cember all five will be completely natural.

Ideally we would suggest moistur-ising twice a day, just like brush-ing your teeth. One when you are getting ready in the morning fol-lowing your shower and the other in the evening before bed. The second is more important than you might believe as the skin absorbs moisture better as you sleep.

For those who may not know, tell us what it is you do day to day…

I actually do a lot of things; fortunate-ly they’re all related to my passion for bespoke tailoring and craftsmanship. I keep updating the blog whenever I find a true artisan or business with a story that is worth mentioning. I do consul-tancy for brands and private investors, whilst work as a contributor for GQ It-aly (where I have a column), Fashion Illustrated, Arbiter and some Russian magazines such as Vedomosti and RBC Daily. I recently launched an eyewear collection of Italian hand-made glasses available on www.thebespokedude-seyewear.com. Soon I will also launch a small collection of hand-made shoes designed by me from the sketch to the leathers and details.
