LEMONT BANK & TRUSTYOUR WINTRUST COMMUNITY BANK

Lemont Bank & Trust is a branch of Hinsdale Bank & Trust Company.

What do we love the most about this community? The people we share it with! That’s why we support the families here, the local businesses, and the charitable organizations too. Instead of just providing banking solutions, we also take pride in giving back to the people who work to make this area so great. Why? Because this isn’t just home to us; it’s home to all of us. And, as a true community bank, we know that when we all do our part, we can help make Lemont better for everyone. 12400 Archer Ave. | Lemont, IL 60439

BOARD MEETINGS: The Lemont Park District Board meets the third Tuesday of

Dear Residents,

We have survived another prolonged Illinois winter! Spring is once again upon us and soon summer will be here. As we continue our 2019 “Unplug Lemont” initiative encouraging the community to take advantage of the many recreation opportunities we have to offer, we hope you are all ready to unplug this summer and get outside! Our projects and programs are in full swing and we are very pleased with some of our recent accomplishments and upcoming events.

The District continues to stay focused on our “Make Your Park” improvement program with Hilltop Park next on our agenda. After gathering input from local residents in January, we have already initiated this renovation process with an anticipated completion this summer. In addition, the District has committed to the installation of a new park at Kettering Estates. This year we are aiming to complete the planning and engineering aspect of this project with park installation tentatively scheduled for next year. We hope you are able to Unplug and enjoy our parks this summer!

We are pleased to announce that the agency is embarking on updating the Master Plan. This roadmap

replacement program, we have addressed all the parks except Bambrick and Centennial. The Centennial Community Center is starting to show its age and is also in need of attention. In addition to these items, potential opportunities to assist with serving the increased growth in program attendance will

information for the board and staff throughout this process.

It also gives us great pleasure to announce that the Village of Lemont and the Lemont Park District have

in a section of the Safety Village building with outside access only. It also comes with a drinking fountain, courtesy of the Lemont Park Foundation, and a bike rack funded by Nicks on Main Street. This ongoing spirit of cooperation that exists in our community is like no other.

Special THANKS to the Lemont Park Foundation for the generous donation of two brand-new bounce houses! This talented group of men and women are highly motivated and dedicated to our community. From the H2O Egg-Venture, Fall Fest, Independence Day and the New Year’s Eve Bash, the bounces houses are a great feature at so many District special events. These new amenities have assisted with accommodating our growing population and minimize wait times.

Another amazing group of men and women that continue to be a community inspiration is the Lemont Lions Club. This year they presented the Lemont Park District with a check in the amount of $3,000 as part of an ongoing partnership to restore the Lions Grove on Centennial Campus. After the loss of hundreds of trees to the Ash Bore in this area, the Lions club came to our rescue to help re-establish this aspect of our Green Initiative for future generations to enjoy.

In this summer’s edition of the Memory Maker, you will pleased to see so many beloved programs including Freedom Days and the Independence Day Extravaganza; the Sunset Soiree Concert Series and Movies in The Park, just to name a few. And NEW this year – the Family Camp Out at Centennial Park! Whether it’s early childhood and youth sports programs to a variety of teen activities and adult and senior trips – once again, there is something for everyone to enjoy this summer. So be sure to Unplug Lemont and enjoy all that we have to offer!

Have a great summer and hope to see you at the park!

On Behalf of the Board of Commissioners,

Brian Pepich, Board President
